We are fully in it now. Kido Butai has finished its diversion and now moves into strike range of Kodiak to add CAP and clobber whatever is needed to be smacked. SEVEN BBs provide gunfire support as two fully prepped ID, 3 Artillery Regiments, and an Engineering Regiment storm ashore. They are opposed by just two Infantry Regiments.

Since the landing started in the last phase before end-of-turn, the AV was low to start with. Not so now.

Have never gone after Alaska before...

June 12, 1942

All players get to know their opponents over time and can realize important moments within their relationship as players and--hopefully--friends.

Just has one of those with Paul. For the first time the man got into my head and PREDICTED a move I ordered. Now Dan (Canoerebel) has done that many time to me and I to him; however, this was a first between my new opponent and I. All I have to say is THANK GAWD for the weather on this turn! For once I applauded having operations shut down on my flightdecks...

Unloading is pretty much finished at Kodiak. Losses to CD and SS are 1 old CL, 2 DMS, 1 AV, and 3 AK. We'll test the Allied defense to see just how much of a good or bad idea this was!

John 3rd -> RE: Rising Sun, Falling Skies: BTSL Bigred vs John 3rd (1/16/2021 1:41:27 PM)

Something just dawned on me. If we are playing with NO House Rules, then that means no PP buying out to shift borders--RIGHT? I say this as I notice the Chinese flooding into Eastern Burma.

If I am correct--please let me know--then kiss China Goodbye.

After bad weather prevented strikes yesterday (thank goodness!), Kido Butai goes about cleaning out the Ports and killing off Mine ships to clear the path for future action.

Whittier 34 Zero, 14 Val, and 48 Kate sink an ACM and AM
Seward 27 Zero, 27 Val, and 42 Kate sink an ACM
Valdez 11 Zero, 25 Val, and 36 Kate hit an AKL and AK
Yakutat 7 Zero and 29 Kate hit a PC
Cordova 9 Zero and 15 Kate

one comment, I did notice you moved alot of units up to Sian after I left a hole in the chinese line.[sm=sign0031.gif]

In a big three allied meeting(with Chang), The British Empire has agreed to share the Magwe oil with China. Chinese demands included unlimited supplies of rice and a replacement burmese wife for each chinese troop committed into area.[sm=fighting0056.gif]

John 3rd -> RE: Rising Sun, Falling Skies: BTSL Bigred vs John 3rd (1/17/2021 3:00:01 PM)

This match now stands for many things I disagree with. No HR? OK.

John 3rd -> RE: Rising Sun, Falling Skies: BTSL Bigred vs John 3rd (1/17/2021 3:03:42 PM)

June 15, 1942
Kwangtung Army HQ

The orders are cut as the large headquarters unit packs up for entraining to China: the 10th, 1st, 14th, and 29th ID are to move into China along with 12 Medium to Heavy Artillery Regiments. The forming 1st and 2nd Tank Divisions are given orders for a different location for their journey. Nearly 2,500 AV get the orders to move out.

The 2nd Air HQ gets re-assigned and prepares to move to Central China. ALL its assigned units will move with it.

China beckons...

John 3rd -> RE: Rising Sun, Falling Skies: BTSL Bigred vs John 3rd (1/17/2021 3:09:21 PM)

June 15, 1942

China
Siangtan (east of Changsha) falls to two Japanese ID. The net begins to close on Changsha and Hengchun.

Alaska
KB refuels at Chirikof Isle. It has been a LONG voyage along the West Coast and fuel was much needed. Over 100 airframes are picked up to replenish losses sustained in over two weeks of active operations.

At Adak, seven BBs and three BCs reload their ammo storage and prepare to return to Kodiak. As they reload, a large Invasion TF of nearly 100 ships weighs anchor and departs heading east.

Total war is never a pretty thing. This allied player would rather Japan garrison China than the Chinese!!!

Reminder to readers, this allied player will claim a victory if the allies get a draw with the Japs.

The bad thing about this AAR is that no one can post a picture of a tree, get six pages of posts and freak the opponent out because he thinks that a major operation is being planned.[;)]

Another side effect of the failed IJA Chittagong adventure is the permanent increase in the 26th Indian div experience level. It was at 30.
