Brady -> Our Ages..... (6/6/2004 11:42:06 PM)

I was very interested and Happy to find that when a poll was conducted in Aces High some time ago that the average age for the players was in their mid 30's, with a a few thousand subscribers this was very interesting, and imo bode well for the future of WW2 Sim's. Since many younger players were as enthusastic about it as the older ones, thus potentialy inshuring the contunuation of the genera. Many Squads in the game (and in ww2 online) have players with great age differances, ranging from early teans to their 70's, and they are from all over the world.

While I have spent a lot of time in WW2 sims in the past few years my true love is the more indepth Wargame, I grew up on Avalion Hill games, and the detail of games like UV and I am shure WiTP is what I am realy looking for. Howeaver it seams at a glance that were a bit older in this genera than the Sim players, this could be that many sim players graduate to this type of game. I just hope that in the next decades that their is still a contunied development of this genera.

I'm 28 and I started at 10 with Avalon Hills "Battle of the Bulge" (1982 edition I think). Been hooked ever since. Was always an avid military adict from my dad being in the RAF. Army and RAF are my preference[sm=00000028.gif], the RN I'm very hazy about[&:].

My God! You weren't in the line waiting outside the theater for 6 hours to see it? You missed 1976? I'm voting for you to be our youngest mascot! [:D][:D] Ha, but you were around when Australia won the America's Cup, no? [;)]

Subchaser -> RE: Our Ages..... (6/7/2004 3:09:39 PM)

It’s really amazing to see one man so happy about some minor changes in air search model and find out then that he’s already a grandpa. I think wargaming has most dedicated zealots, it’s really a hobby thing, not just free-time wasting

I’m 29.

Sneer -> RE: Our Ages..... (6/7/2004 3:21:20 PM)

I do remember "Midway" on a cassette loading on my brother's Trash-80.

I drive a School Bus every once in a while during the year, and the kids thought I was 25... I wish.
