Well sir, you are the proud owner of a slim sexy body. But of course as everyone knows where battleships are concerned, tripods rule! so you are not as sexy or bad as moi. [:'(]

Ah fellow Yamato, you and I, the glorious Musashi, shall make these pathetic weakling Battleships rue the day they thought to compare themselves to our might!

Sh*t, that must mean I'm the Shinano

Synjin -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 2:04:58 AM)

First one to get the Texas [;)]

You are the USS Texas. You are the flagship for today's Third Texas Navy and a museum piece linked with the pride of Texas. Built by the US navy with ten 14 inch guns, you're a symbol of Texan pride with a proud history in combat. World War I was really more your speed, though. As far as warships go, though, you don't measure up very well to the more modern battleships, lacking sorely in armor and speed. Nevertheless, a proud history lies behind you.

Blackhorse -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 2:26:52 AM)

Nice quiz.

Mark me down as another just another farm-fed All-American Iowan.

Halsey -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 2:47:49 AM)

Iowa Class BB. Perfect![:D]

rogueusmc -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 3:17:44 AM)

I was a King George V...

I had my girlfriend take the quiz to find out if her battleship would kick my battleship's butt....[:D]

RevRick -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 3:42:58 AM)

Iowa here. Seems about right since she was the only working BB I was ever aboard when in commission. Go Farmers....

Desertdaddy -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 4:03:17 AM)

Rio De Janeiro

Did it ever support an invasion or at least fire it's guns toward entrenched grunts? Was it at least in a task force that was near an invasion?

Stylish...I guess shorts and a t-shirt are considered stylish some place on earth.

Unique...got that right just ask my wife.

Over all a great test

BTW my wife was Vittorio Veneto, partially right, she really liked Rome and Italy.

GBirkn -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 4:06:34 AM)

I'm yet another Iowa. I guess they're going to have to launch a few more, we're way past just four of them already.

Tankerace -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 4:09:36 AM)

The Rio de Janerio was built by England for another country. However, on the outbreak of WWI, she was taken over by the Brits, and remaned HMS Agincourt. Agincourt is most famous for Participating in the Battle of Jutland (31 May-1 June 1916), where observes thought she blew up when she fired all 7 12" gun turrets at once. IN 1919 she was converted to a depot ship, and scrapped after the Washington Treaty of 1922.

Iowa as well. Does the best battleship equate to the best personality?

Firing all her guns at once, sounds like a bombardment TF to me. I'm sure she was trying to soften up main land Europe for one of Sir Winstons "diversions". The whole battle of Jutland was just a cover for a well planned invasion. The German High Seas Fleet just got in the way.

cyberwop36 -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 4:50:09 AM)

gangut[8D]

Nixuebrig -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 6:36:43 AM)

Does size really matter? No! So guess,I am the

Yamato [:D]

Tiornu -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 6:58:53 AM)

"The Gangut class was the largest native class of battleship actually used by the USSR in WWII."
It's easy to be the largest, when you're the only.

"although a heavier battleship class, the Sovietski Soyuz, was under construction as WWII opened up, it was never brought into action, leaving the Gangut the largest Soviet battleship on record. "
Actually, Arkhangelsk would be the largest Soviet battleship on record. ParKom (ex-Sevastopol) was a close second, but she at least was Gangut's sister. Novorossiysk was also larger than Gangut.

bradfordkay -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 7:10:57 AM)

Another Richelieu here. Interesting quiz, interesting results.

"Elegant, distinctive, innovative, and excellent." Yep, that's me!

Grotius -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 7:26:33 AM)

Another Iowa class here. I'm kinda happy about that. :)

Central Blue -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/25/2004 7:54:10 AM)

for all you Iowa fans...

I got to see the Iowa pass under the Golden Gate Bridge on her way to the bone yard up in Suisun Bay. It was a totally awesome and inspiring sight.

She passed under the bridge at about 2359 with all kinds of search lights playing on her from her tugs, escort boats, and the shore.

Me too. Not exactly sure how it figured that out, my answers seemed pretty unlikely to end up with the biggest bb of all . . .

Not sure how my answers got me the Agincourt. Perhaps seven turrets and seven distinct personalities which emerge during a night of irresponsible drinking. [:D] On a Halloween night party at my bar in Ottawa about six years ago, we had The Swinging Neckbreakers playing, some of my staff and friends all came as dressed as me. They wore unbuttoned checkered shirts, blue jeans, baseball caps, a pillow! under a T-shirt which they made with "The seven faces of Ron" printed on it. If I remember correctly, the "faces" were Chicken eating Ron, self depracating Ron, Al (my cocaine addicted ass of a business partner) hating Ron, angry Ron...can't remember the other three but were funny as hell.
