If a patrol plane attacks a ship or sub it is noted in the Op Report ("D3A Val attacking Flying Fish at 48,46"). I don't see it being represented in either the Op log or the Combat log on the Utility. Can you double check that? Thanks.

If you're playing as Allied, you won't see this message. Currently it only reports this type of Ops report if the plane is on your side. It really needs to report this message for both sides: it's now on the fix list - thanks for pointing it out.

(If you're playing as Japan you should see it - I just copied the exact message into my Ops Report file and saw it under Ops for Japan. Let me know if you're Japan and not seeing it as Japan.)

No Japanese games - I don't have that kind of time, lol. That kind of info is useful in getting a clue as to where certain airgroups might be...

Major SNAFU_M -> RE: WitP Utility (11/27/2005 9:26:37 PM)

So as a newbie I have to ask "What is this utility?" and "What is it used for?".

My apologies for not readig the 12 pages of posts prior to this, but I am trying to figure out what files, utilities, etc. are essential to have for WitP.

Thanks

scout1 -> RE: WitP Utility (11/27/2005 9:42:55 PM)

It is an offline tool (doesn't run under WitP). It reads in the in game data available (what there is, ops report, combat report, etc ...) and displays the info in a VERY human-friendly manner on the map (which he reads into his utility). I don't even watch the combat replay anymore, let it go on its own and review the action with Bodhi's utility.
His approach is FAR advanced to that available in the game. Definately a keeper [:D]

Major SNAFU_M -> RE: WitP Utility (11/27/2005 11:07:42 PM)

Thanks Scout1.

This sounds like a great utility. I will have to give it a try.

Does it work with CHS and any of the other mods?

Thanks

It reads data from the scenario database and pwhex.dat files, and also uses the map bit map tiles, so it will run with any sort of mod.

Berkut -> RE: WitP Utility (11/28/2005 4:26:25 PM)

One of the nicest things about using this utility is it allows you to see cmobat reports organized by location, rather than time.

Seeing a battle and how it unfolded in a particular hex is pretty handy. If only you could see that adjusted combat values, and how they change in the larger land battles...

dtravel -> RE: WitP Utility (12/1/2005 1:34:46 AM)

A suggestion for Bodhi, if you don't mind. You already have a naval navigation section, could you either expand that or add another tab for long-distance air movements? I.E. if a player has an air unit they want to move from Midway to Darwin they could either input the transfer range or select the aircraft type (you already have some aircraft ranges in) and the program would list the bases it would have to transfer to, in order, to move to their eventual destination. While I'm sure many here have those routes memorized it would be helpful for the rest of us who can't spend 26 hours a day playing. [:'(]

Bodhi -> RE: WitP Utility (12/1/2005 2:52:01 AM)

Sounds a good idea. It's on the list - but not sure when it'll get done.

dtravel -> RE: WitP Utility (12/1/2005 6:06:14 AM)

Having it on the list satisfies me. And in case I forgot to say it earler, thank you for the program.

Rekm41 -> RE: WitP Utility (6/4/2009 4:46:07 PM)

Quick question when exporting the csv files, where do they go?

Thanks

Anthropoid -> RE: WitP Utility (6/15/2009 2:14:16 PM)

Ummm . . . where's the "GO" button for this Utility?

I installed it successfully, but the only .exe in the WiTP Util folder is the Setup.exe.

How do I make it start? Do I start it before I play my turns?
