Andy Mac -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 12:56:26 PM)

<Goes to get the 2by4 in an EXTREMELY grumpy mood with the insanity looming>

pauk -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 1:08:26 PM)

ups... i'm here[:D]. I had to be a first one, Andy[;)]

I've really enjoyed in 2.5 years of playing with/against Andy. Thank you all gentelmen!

(finally Andy can read my AAR and figure why Bonsai! battlecry[:D])

Andy Mac -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 1:11:55 PM)

Pauk has been a GREAT opponent who has played extremely well and has kicked the utter crap out of me
Andy

Andy Mac -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 1:13:10 PM)

Thanks Pauk I will hold off reading for a while until I calm down I have thoroughly enjoyed our game (well Mandalaygrad less so [:D][:D])

Fishbed -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 1:16:49 PM)

!!!

What's all the fuss about?! [:(]

Pauk, is that because of the accusations of being gamey or something?

Andy Mac -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 1:21:05 PM)

Whatever the reason I 100% agree wioth Pauk no one needs this crap

Fishbed -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 1:27:23 PM)

Ho man! That makes one more good-looking single out there, beware the first one who'll jump on him for a game [:'(]
(well I don't count Andy as being single - he still has to look after his two other mistresses - AE and PzB [:D] )

Andy Mac -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 1:30:52 PM)

[:D] I think I will hold off on another game until we get AE out there now.

I have only ever quit one game (against Nemo - our worldview was too different but he was an excelllent player) so I dont want to take on a 3+ year commitment in stock only to end up quitting when AE comes out.

To be honest I am thinking of trying Japan for the first time in AE as I am having a lot of fun in the testing phase

pauk -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 2:02:22 PM)

well, i offered Andy that someone can replace me (i'm sure that there are a good players) or even that we give our seats to another two players, but it is all up to him.

I would thank Andy for the great game and his ignoring of importance of Northern Australia (IMHO his worst mistake!)[;)]. Seriously i have been on the ropes (?) few times, but i was lucky (not struck with Pauks curse in this game!!!) and that traced our game. It could been all different, but i was indeed lucky few times. Just one my defeat would caused a colapse of my defensive theater and the game would be lost.

If there is any doubts that Andy is a good player, well they should look at all PZBs opponents AAR. Only the Andy without Fighters was enough insane to take game after game was lost (twice). And he done a good job only with Yankees and Aussies.

regards...

Oh, we have another JFB, that is a good news indeed[:D]

Andy Mac -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 2:49:35 PM)

Lol I viewed Northern Australia as a giant internment camp for Japanese forces and basically irrelevant

Perth was important Darwin less so [:D][:D]

PzB74 -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 3:12:03 PM)

Posted it in Pauk's AAR, so I will repeat it here!

A shame to see such a great game and AAR go prematurely.
Cudos to both of you for creating one of the best AARs ever [8D]

Andy Mac -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 3:29:34 PM)

[:D][:D][:D] Pauk did I was just the counterpoint  [:D][:D][:D]

Nomad -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 6:35:39 PM)

WTH happened? I was really enjoying the two AARs.

pat.casey -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 6:59:04 PM)

This was a pleasure to read. Too bad it had to end.

Andy Mac -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 7:25:40 PM)

I was really enjoying the game but Pauk was getting to much grief from certain individuals and he simply doesnt need to put up with it - and I agree with him on this

Rob Brennan UK -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 7:53:54 PM)

Ive ben an avid follower of Pauks AAR for a long long time, and resisted the urge to read yours too Andy.

That said I should like to say thank you for such a great game , It's been a roller coaster of a read and i can supply nails for the end of your 2x4 [;)]

Thank you

Andy Mac -> RE: IMPORTANT NOTICE (1/12/2008 9:29:38 PM)

6" minimum and rusty please......

I will let it go in a few days after some more struggles with the ever changing variants of Indian Inf Divs and AIF junglification upgrades, and the SA ratings on Matildas and CD defences in India and upgrade paths for british AA guns and the off map convoy sustem .......arrrrggghhhh brain overload !!!

I have a land team submisison to go finish I will go and brutalise some more at start CW forces and have another go at Percivals ratings every time I get angry he loses 10 points of land skill then I become reasonable again and so it goes round and round and round.

pauk -> RE: Trouble (1/12/2008 11:29:22 PM)

Will do on the next turn

I admit I do have a thang about Malaya but I am getting a little predictable but its such a good strategic position so many bases to defend right on the jap LOC.

BUT I am getting predictable so I may go elsewhere.....

ufff... just finished with reading with 21st page. I had a hunch how i lucky i was in this game now I'm sure!!!

Andy Mac -> RE: Trouble (1/13/2008 1:24:10 AM)

[:D] just remember that when you read the rest because that was when I got REALLY stupid and occasionally frustrated <whistles innocently>

bobogoboom -> RE: Trouble (1/13/2008 3:06:54 AM)

Ahhh going to miss this game. I hope pauk doesn't dissapear from this board. Great game and i thank you both for all the enjoyable reading.

Speedysteve -> RE: Trouble (1/13/2008 5:15:35 AM)

Ditto. A great game and good read. Sorry to see it has ended Andy[:(]

fabertong -> RE: Trouble (1/13/2008 12:23:39 PM)

What Speedy said.......I will miss this and Pauk's AAR.......well played guys...............

Andy Mac -> RE: Trouble (1/13/2008 7:19:52 PM)

OK guys I have a proposal for you all I don't want to continue this game as is because frankly this is my game v Pauk and its quite personal to us warts and all. Also we have got to the stage in it now where the strategic options for both sides are limited.

I have saves from the game in March 43 after PM was retaken but before the Marshalls allied carrier defeat.

AND

December 43 After the Marshalls defeat but before the allies fully committed to Burma.

I would be willing to consider taking on a game from either of those points with HR's to be agreed if someone wants to step into Pauks shoes.

(I cannot face another 1942 with all the AE turns I am churning)

I would guarantee finishing the game even if AE comes out before hand.

AAR is probably something I would have to say I wont do as I am to busy but I could cope with a game.

I have one person interested but if anyone else wants to think about it send me a PM and I will work out if its possible.

I have not yet reviewed the allied position but if you check out Pauks AAR from those two points you will have a fair idea of the situation. p.s. I have not yet read Pauks AAR bar the last page deliberately.

Andy

soeren01 -> RE: Trouble (1/14/2008 11:21:31 AM)

Thanks for these great AAr from to both of you.

saj42 -> RE: Trouble (1/14/2008 3:41:05 PM)

Thanks Andy for your time, commitment and this AAR [&o]- oh and keeping me sane at work [;)]

Andy Mac -> RE: Trouble (1/17/2008 9:08:24 PM)

[:D][:D]

I just simply hate losing and its hard to say I didnt lose this one...

A big part of my depression over the end of the game is that I wanted to perform the miraculous comeback because I hate losing...

Did I mention I hate losing [:'(][:'(]

I guess I am just a tad to competitive !!!!!

Andy

hades1001 -> RE: Trouble (1/17/2008 10:15:30 PM)

It's sad to see the AAR end like this.

Andy, would like to look for an replacement for the Allies Commander?

String -> RE: Trouble (1/17/2008 10:23:23 PM)

Oh damn.

It's sad to see this game go. I had almost forgotten how it got started, looking at the start of the thread brings back many memories :)

Andy Mac -> RE: Trouble (1/17/2008 11:45:09 PM)

hades1001 I am the allied player its the japanese player thats left the game.

To be honest this game is now so far down the line and so deep into late 44 that I would not want to continue with it from this pont against anyone but Pauk - we are just to far down the line with no more strategic choices.

I am exploring the option of starting from an earlier points in this game against another player but my time limitations with AE probably prevent me from playing Japan (plus I have no skill in playing Japan)

The game points I have saved is March just after the fall of Port Moresby - at that point both sides are at full strength and not committed to any attacks.

I will seriously start looking to see if anyone wants to try a game next week. I am sure Pauk will provide the PW for the game to anyone that wants to review the Japanese side.

Andy

GaryChildress -> RE: Trouble (1/17/2008 11:50:26 PM)
