If the bases have decent radar, you are screwed, as they all available fly to meet the raid,

The only difference is height - those on CAP already can climb to higher heights to meet the raid.

In this case, where the fighter's aren't escorting or ground attcking, they would all have been available.

There will be plenty of planes to fill the pools as well, I would think.

We both have the pools but only the Allies have the pilots. I just lost the cream of my bomber force that I had trained over Chungking.

Well, you are committed, so you have to keep the airbases closed.

My hope is that these AC losses will suck up a lot of his supplies to replace and I will be able to starve his LCUs out that much faster. In the cold calculus of war these horrendous losses may be worth it in the long run.

India should be a good fight. I left a pretty big garrison there and the whole place is one big level 9 fort.

well the Japanese Army is on the move again....this time Russia is the target. This is the only branch of the military i can't sink or shoot down.....so its been largely untouched this war.

Here's the opening stages right now. As i estimated, some 1 million japanese soldiers are on the attack, which basically means i'm screwed....but so far the Soviets are doing well......here are the points of the opening attack...

1) my airforce has accounted well for itself, shooting scoring a 2:1 kill ratio in the Soviet favor.

2) the border fortresses near Vladivostok are still intact despite overwhelming japanese numbers, so as we speak the japanese soldiers are stuck at the border

3) Japanese Para-troopers capture a bunch of christmas trees in northwest Siberia

4) a strong allied navy is off the coast of Shakalin island supporting the defenders at Ohka

5) below, red X's indicate AF's that have been knocked out, while pink X's are AF's still operations despite Japanese raids

Looks like Kenny may have gone a base too far with a daring air drop on the island base of Irkutski just 60 miles off the coast of the Home Islands. Shame I can't do too much about it

Kenny,
Did you stand down your Russian LBA's to get their Morale up to 99 and then set their training at 90% from the beginning of the war to get them ready for this attack??

3rd raid in Ikisuki wiped out the rest of the mine layers and a few trasports/barges. Despite setting thier range to 0 I keep losing Tonies from Sapporo that want to defend other bases.

Kenny has launched a counter attack into Manchuria that I will have to deal wth. Fortunetly I kept a mobile reserve force for just such an occasion.

My Land Death Star rolled over Vladivostok. The offensive in the North is stalled at Khabarovsk and will have to wait for the air force to wear it down.

Looks like the tank units that crossed the border into Manchuria have turned around and have been replaced by Rifle Divisions

No raid on Ikisuki this turn due to the fact that most of the ports in the area have been mined by B-29s. I will have to get new torps elsewhere.

Terrible day for me. I tried yet another raid on Ikisuki but ran onto a wall of air dropped mines. I lost 17DDs and a CA as a result and I have several cripples heading back to port. To top it off the first attack at Uglahamensk was repleed with heavy losses. At least they lowered the fort to 8.

The news gets even worse. A check of my top pilots revealed that my top ace, "Bomber Killer" Handa, the hero of Timor and nemisis of Putnam has gone missing over Russia. His wingman, Ens. Abe,A. was also killed. Neither was ever the same after being transferred from A6M2s to Bettys in a clerical error in late 1942.
