Time is a bit tight, so there won't be quite as much editorializing as normal. (And with how things are going, for that I truly am thankful!)

Status: offline 		Note what a difference the "excellent" artillery advantage made above. I wish I had strong siege artillery with all of these sieges - it would have made a big difference. Instead, they are progressing rather slowly.

A few small battles.... and we didn't get the best of them. Kicked out of Nashville...again... so much for the progress we were making. And out Navy appears to have been overwhealmed. Ooops. That shouldn't happen but I've been ignoring it completely.

The purists should note the small battle in Jackson. Though I won, I suffered more casualties. This report seems to show only the battle casualties (while the event report above includes the retreat losses).

Lost some weapons in Nashville - though nothing I can't live without.

Status: offline 		Looking at Nashville, the bigger issue is that he slipped a light division into Hatchie to cut my supply lines. That's really bad since it is now winter and movement slows way down.

Status: offline 		The siege in Tallahassee struggles on. Without artillery, the swamps are pretty harsh on the troops.

Status: offline 		I didn't bother to grab a screen cap, but I lowered the supply of several armies (especially AoP) for the winter to lower support costs and generate some cash. British and European diplomacy will both inch up just a bit.

Status: offline 		I want to retake hatchie, but with Winter movement rules enabled movement is slowed across the map during December and January. Since he has a very light force, I'll try sending my divisions from Keyes' army separately. If just one of them makes it, I should be able to retake it and I stand a better chance of having someone get there by allowing them to each try independently.

What happens to the Army container if you do that? Seems like splitting up your forces effectively disbands the Army so do you lose the container?

In a word, no.

You can completely empty the container and it stays intact - UNLESS it comes into contact with an enemy unit. An empty container is destroyed by enemy contact. So I could have emptyied it entirely and left it there, but I didn't - no need subjecting myself to that risk. I actually left some troops within the army. That way, it could defeat any light units that just wandered in looking to convert an empty province or, if a real force came in, I could retreat to safety and keep the army.

I was actually in a hurry and didn't do anything with the Navy that turn. In the subsequent turn (which I took last night but haven't yet posted), I went ahead and got the Navy active again. I wish I hadn't skipped the Navy that first turn... but you'll see what's afoot after dinner when I get the latest turn posted.

Status: offline 		He came after me in Bowling Green? I really wasn't expecting any offensive by him through the winter. It was quite a fight and it looks like we held!

I also was able to chase him out of Hatchie, so my supply lines are again secure. [Note - a change was made during the beta so that supplies could not be traced through a province in unrest. The latest versions though are not compatible with our ongoing AAR game so supply will flow through those recently conquered provinces in our game. But be aware, in the future you won't be so lucky).

Status: offline 		I'll leave a division in Hatchie to guard it after finally retaking it. I am worried about AP Hill sitting so close to Jackson though just as we're making progress there. I'll try and send all of the various divisions from Keyes' army there to reinforce against a potential attack. I assume at least one won't make it which will leave a garrison force in Yazoo to prevent the light division in Aberdeen from cutting me off again.
