Magnus.... If you double the height of the hexes and also double the width, you are increasing the total number of pixels used, by a factor of 4x. If you keep the unit (and other art) the same relative size, then that will all be increased by a factor of 4x also. Which means.... you have to redo ALL the artwork... including all the unit art. If you take the time to put in the much finer detail in the unit and other artwork... then it will all look MUCH better at the lowest zooms. However..... the artwork will now take up 4 times the space as it does now on the hard drive, and it will also take 4 times as long to load as it does now. Being the game takes too long to load now...... increasing the amount of time that it takes to load by something approaching 4x.... well, might just be a problem. I was thinking you were gonna put off increasing the size of the hexes for a while, which would give you time to decide to go for 8 figurines per unit, 10, 12 or whatever, and also decide if you want to allow 3 and 4 line unit graphics. Also, in time there will be many with Vista and dual processor PCs. So, my question is, R U sure you want to go to the bigger hexes right now? Whatever, DiT
