Swedish Prog band called The Flower Kings. Excellent band with very skilled musicians. Their latest album Desolation Rose, which was released couple of weeks ago is simply brilliant. It's kind of a neoprog stuff spiced with nice sounding old-school playing. The guitarist and leading figure Roine Stolt with his teammates prove again that the band is still kickin' and hopefully they will do so many years. I think that fans of 70's prog will like this one...

Excellent group! Thanks for that!

Not a fan of Rod Stewart at all... AT ALL. But this is one from his early days, and is an amazing song. Some say Rod Stewart's own 'Day in the Life.' Quite a tune and the lyrics are awesome.

As good as that song is, I feel that a Rod Stewart song might bring this thread to a screeching halt.

So...

Here's some honky tonk goodness to keep your Sunday full of suds and smiles.

Junior Brown - Broke Down South Of Dallas

Del Reeves - Girl On The Billboard

Merle Haggard & Willie Nelson - Reasons to Quit

Lastly, plenty of good wisdom in this song. One of my favorites for sure. You don't go writtin' hot checks down in Mississippi.

There ain't no good Chain Gang

I'd say Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship were one of the few bands that transitioned well through the decades. Winds of Change was their first transition and one of their better albums. The Stones were another and probably Ozzy too.
