Wow I had forgotten that it was this song that was the inspiration for the Notorious BIG's Hypnotize! Great to hear that again, thanks shunwick .

warspite1

And here it is. A rather sweet little tune, I'm sure old mother warspite would have appreciated the pleasant lyrics.

Great bass line though -

One of my favorite albums is Alice's Restaurant. I saw Arlo in concert once a few years ago. He did the song and it was just perfect.

The gig was brilliant - Ultravox essentially played their back catalogue of hits, and Simple Minds were just fantastic - and they played New Gold Dream 81,82,83,84 too Bonus!!

Right music lovers. How about we set out our all time top 20 toons. We are about to be marooned on a desert island and these 20 songs are the only ones you will ever hear again.

What do you choose and why? Who fancies going first? Doesn't have to be all 20 in one hit.

I've been pondering on this for a while now. I decided to only pick one song per artist so I would get some more variation. But despite this there is not much variation in the songs that, at the moment, are on my list.

I wish you would have said 50 or 100 songs then I would have been a lot more comfortable at that island.

Here is my current list of 20 songs to bring to the island:
1) Sting - Fields Of Gold - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLVq0IAzh1A
2) Dire Straits - Your Latest Trick - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKiVttFnqkY&ob=av2n
3) Dido - Thank You - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TO48Cnl66w
4) Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxPj3GAYYZ0
5) Sarah Brightman - A Whiter Shade Of Pale - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVuU-X-igaA
6) Ellie Goulding - Your Song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sjll7yySgMs
7) Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkADj0TPrJA
8) Bruce Springsteen - Streets Of Philadelphia - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4z2DtNW79sQ
9) Eagles - Hotel California - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaQHsWFSiao
10) Joshua Kadison - Jessie - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iElty90IPiw
11) Scorpions - Wind Of Change - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4RjJKxsamQ
12) Roxy Music - Avalon - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpA_5a0miWk
13) Sandra - Loreen - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJZzJdFBywk
14) Depeche Mode - Little 15 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRI3MG7CHFk
15) Shakira ft. Wyclef Jean - Hips Don't Lie - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUT5rEU6pqM

No.11 now.

I figure I will be spending a lot of Christmas' on this desert island so a Christmas Carol is in order. There are 2-3 real contenders but only room for one. This one wins it as it was my dear old mum's favourite.

Lots of happy childhood Christmas memories
