The manual states that each ground unit has a certain supply requirement. For instance the 30th Australian Brigade has a supply requirement of 301.

Does this mean that a unit uses an amount of supplies equal to its supply requirement every day? or every week? Or just when it goes into combat?

I believe that is the supply requirement per month, but that assumes no unusual ops (sitting still, basically). If you start fighting with any unit, the supply requirements go up significantly.

Similarly, building up a base consumes a lot of supplies - if you're getting low, tell the engineers to stop for a while until your next convoy arrives.
