Well that was special.

I bet you americans don't have to get a hunting licnence with two theoretical tests about thousands of pages of knowledge, two practical tests about gun handeling and a shooting test?

We have to do one theoretical and three practical :-/

If several recent events are any indication, it wouldnt be a bad idea. Along with a very tough mental evaluation.

I should mention that no deer were intentionally harmed by that American hunting troop. Only one deer was slain. But at least it was well grilled.

As for the rest I only shot the maximum the law would allow:
Three hunters, two game wardens and one cow

Evening tithe... been a bit scarce in here lately, as I was doing a first Pbem turn, and starting an AAR.

But I'm back now.

Watched that a doco on Anders Breivik last night, makes me wonder about some of the Euro Nazis that visit this site.

Hi Leo.

Feeling great thanks, hope you and yours good too.

Yep... 2 about 2 weeks of winter to go, but feels like spring already, as the grounds warm and some bugs are coming out.

I see that my esteemed opponent has started an AAR of our game. Will be fun to read 'the other side' when this game is finished ... some years from now

Hi all,

The shocking picture taken by passenger who looked out window of Alaska Airlines plane in mid-air to see maintenance note on damaged wing

By Daily Mail UK

A passenger on an Alaska Airlines flight bound to Seattle looked out the window and saw what appeared to be a damaged area on the wing with a handwritten note saying, 'We know about this.'

The incident July 28 drew comments on Twitter and other social media websites, but the Seattle-based airline says there was nothing to worry about.

Spokeswoman Bobbie Egan said Tuesday that it was an approved trim repair to the corner flap on the right wing.

Nervous sight: Passengers warned airline crew about what looked like a faulty wing so eventually they had to put a note saying 'We know about this' to calm them down:

Rookie error: Alaska Airlines said there was nothing to worry about when one of their passengers looked out the window and saw a maintenance sign on a damaged wing:

A maintenance technician wrote to let the flight crew know.

Egan says, 'The message was the result of someone's good intentions' but the wing note 'was not appropriate and did not follow company procedures.'

Airline officials seem to have known about the issue and understood fliers concerns but dismissed them anyhow.

'And before every flight, pilots do a walk around the plane, and they kept seeing the section repair and pointing it out and kept filing a report saying, "you need to fix it,"' said airline spokesman Paul McElroy.

The message was immediately removed, and Alaska apologizes for any alarm it may have caused.

It looks like an OK repair to me. Damaged area is removed and there are no stress raising areas. If it wasn't safe then the crew wouldn't have taken the jet flying. Sounds to me like someone trying to get some cash from their 'experience'

I boarded a Northwest turbo-prop and noticed duct tape on the wing.

Question: I didn't want to start a new thread for an easy question.
Regarding air transport of paratroops. What mode do they need to be in for a drop on Nadzab (sic)? Move, combat, etc.
Thanks.

Duct tape is poor skills. They really should be using speed tape

As for your paratroopers, combat mode will be the one I'd choose.
