I have won a free download from Matrix and need to chose a game...

I can't make my mind up on what I really want.

I enjoy games based around WW2, Civil War, and Medieval times..WiTPAE is the game in my opinion, and I will play it forever. That said.. I enjoy games centered around data and being able to manipulate that data. (Build more armies...for example)

However, I hardly have time to play more than one game in my spare time (WITPAE is all I play anymore)

I have a lot of my old games that I don't play, but the games I have cover mainly these periods... I am looking for something new that I don't already have.

I have from Matrix:

Campaign Series
WiTP
WiTPAE
Forge of Freedom

I have had my eye set on World in Flames from day one, but I am not sure if that is allowed for a choice. Plus, I have NO idea on release date..

I have heard good things about War in The East, but it looks overwhelming

Gary Grigsby series look good. World at War and the Civil War one...

Forge of Freedom is one of my favorite games, but I don't play it because of the combat...I guess I am sold on CWG2

Is Eagle Day Bombing the Reich any good?

If anyone has some advice, please let me know.

Thanks.

btw..she looks like my wife, however, she has since boxed up those outfits. She doesn't think they're as fun as I do.

Eagle Day/Bombing the Reich is good. Good Tutorial. I also have no time to devote to other games. Let know know if you have time for a Campaign Seires scenario.

Jeff, how about going in an entirely different direction? Something like the Harpoon Ultimate collection? Modern naval warfare at it's finest.

I will once my software switch is over. Were on the downhill side, and they should be done Thursday.

Which game were you thinking. East/West Front, or Rising Sun?

Thanks man.

Flights in the states are booked. I only have to wait for confirmation now.

Just 530 Euro via Lisboa. Unfortunately not stopping long enough to party with some hot portuguese women

Tithe from Ohio. I'm not sure where the "farmers daughters" line is but I don't think I've gotten there yet. Women here seem to be very nice.....but not terribly attractive.

Oh, I'm not particular. I guess we start with a small Rising Sun scenario for starters. With your Thursday software switch over we could start Friday or Monday. Whichever is best to fit your schedule.
Right now I'm waiting for a polka. If you know what I mean.

BTW: Falls colors peaked here on Sunday. And are over with today. 37 mph northwest wind. Gusts up to 45 mph. It's leaf blizzard.

Bigger Bummer. A couple of thousand acres blazing between Karlstad, Thief River Falls and Warroad areas. 50% contained. I was incorrect before; not northeast winds south winds. I was standing on the north side of the building. Me be stupid.

Another bummer. Possible measurable snow is being forecast for tomorrow night. Could this be the end of Indian summer? Will there be a rebound? Or will we be dashed to bits on the jagged rocks below?
Stayed tuned for another adventure of....'Life...on...the TUNDRA'

I played a lot of the orignal WITP but I only bought AE about 2 weeks ago after a 3 or 4 year hiatus. A month or so before I bought AE I bought & played War in the East.

I enjoyed War in the East - I only played the AI and after that had no interest in PBEM, but still thought it was worth the price despite the inflated price tag. I did have fun with it.

If you're playing AE you ABSOLUTELY won't find it overwhelming. There's a learning curve, for sure, but the original WITP is 10X as complex, let alone AE.

Can't comment on the other games.

Hi all,

Darn... I just found new Mallware at work... one of my users "stumbled" upon it (it was his fault - he should have known better and not visit "those" WWW pages)... no Anti-Virus nor Anti-Mallware software recognizes it yet and I had to kill it manually... it must have been made overnight... brand new...
