I was getting ready to check in with you, Des, to see how the end of the world was treating you. Good news so far...

Wait-one... it's started raining, I'll go and check if it is acid or water. If I don't come back, assume the worst.

Morning tithe... well it's the morning of the 21st of December, I can still feel my fingers and toes-es, so much for the world ending.

The Mayans were on US Central time. Stop being so NZ-centric.

Just missed taking home a bottle of good Irish whiskey from our work "Dirty Santa" gift stealing party today, but someone else stole it from me.

Er, hello? Was it just regular precipitation or fire and brimstone? I need to know, should I set my alarm for tomorrow morning or break out the apocalypse proof duvet?

It's Okay guys, it was just water. I decided to stay out there for a while, as we have a covered deck. Also it's was warm, and the first time I've been out in rain in about two years. It was great with the smell of the rain on the newly cut lawn, you forget about these small things sometimes.

You don't trip on them down here, you stamp on the little buggers and squash them.

Hi all,

WOW!

http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/spaceimages/details.php?id=PIA14934

NASA's Cassini spacecraft has delivered a glorious view of Saturn, taken while the spacecraft was in Saturn's shadow. The cameras were turned toward Saturn and the sun so that the planet and rings are backlit:

Leo "Apollo11"

Wow. Quite a picture. Thanks for the pic, Leo.
