Sponsored by Olestra? No wait...that would be 'annal' running marathon. Never mind.

For some reason I can't get that word out of my mind, and it sort-of creeps up on me, when I'm here in the Thread.

Sancho Panza (Mr. Organs) spoilt an otherwise impeccably coreographed rape scene by his unscheduled appearance and repeated cries of "what's all this then?".

Already signed-up Andre, as I was with his old site, which I used for backing-up my files.

A lot of Kiwis are angry with what happened, with the raid and the shutting-down of his old site. The Public over here is mostly on his side, and any court case against him here would be unlikely to find him guilty.

We feel that we were lied to by our politicians, that some very big people in the movie industry thought he would be an easy target. Because he lived and did business in a tiny little country, that could easily push around.

Our security intelligence agency broke the law of the land, by wire-tapping a New Zealand resident. Also Our Police exceeded the warrant they had in executing the raid they launched, and would never have been granted the type of warrant they needed.

But what really gets us now, is it transpires that the raid was directed by the FBI. From an operations room in the US, which is also against NZ law, because they were raiding a New Zealand resident.

The weather here was rather extreme regarding snow BTW!

In early December we got 50+ cm (17 inches) of snow in 24 hour period and last week we got 70+ cm (28 inches) of snow in 24 hour period - both those occasions broke every meteorological record that we had (150+ years of recorded scientific meteorological history)... especially since this is highly urban area (i.e. city)...

Some pictures I posted here in "THE THREAD!!!"...

P.S.
She moved over here because of some bussiness or diplomacy?

Emus should not be questioning my sexuality.

Jokes aside, I've seen it both live on Broadway and in movie form and can attest that the movie is every bit as good as the Broadway show.

Now if they would only make a move version of Fiddler on the Roof with Harvey Firestein as Tevye.....

Not sure if this is a pleasant warm spell, or that the cold spell of the last few weeks is over. I honestly dont recall it being so cold in winter when I was growing up.

Hi all,

I hope that Boeing will recover soon from "787 Dreamliner" recent problems that they will fix all "child illnesses" soon... the world needs good competition...

Dreamliner crisis: Boeing halts 787 jet deliveries

By BBC, 18 January 2013

Boeing has suspended deliveries of its new 787 Dreamliner aircraft until a battery problem is resolved.

The US aerospace giant said it would continue to build the plane, but not deliver any until US safety officials gave their backing.

The US Federal Aviation Administration and Boeing are investigating the problem.

All 50 of Boeing's 787s have been suspended from flying since an All Nippon Airways flight on Wednesday made an emergency landing due to a fault.

"We will not deliver 787s until the FAA [Federal Aviation Administration] approves a means of compliance with their recent Airworthiness Directive concerning batteries and the approved approach has been implemented," said a Boeing spokesman.

US Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said earlier the Dreamliner would not fly again under authorities were "1,000% sure" it is safe.

A string of issues in recent weeks has raised questions about the 787, which is the first major aircraft grounding since 1979.

Dreamliners have suffered incidents including fuel leaks, a cracked cockpit window, brake problems and an electrical fire. However, it is the battery problems that have caused the most concern.

This week, US and European aviation regulators said planes should be grounded while safety checks are carried out on their lithium ion batteries.

On Friday, US officials from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board joined the Japanese probe at Takamatsu airport in western Japan.

The Japan Transport Safety Board said the battery and the systems around it would be sent to Tokyo for more checks, adding there were similarities with an earlier battery fire on a 787 in Boston operated by Japan Airlines.

The pilot of the ANA plane made an emergency landing on Wednesday after he smelled burning and received a cockpit warning of battery problems. All passengers evacuated the plane on emergency slides.

The investigation is being led by the Japan Transport Safety Board.

Boeing is investing heavily in the 787 Dreamliner, which has been in service since October 2011.

Together with European rival Airbus, it dominates the global airliner market.

Just teething problems maybe, didn't the new airbus A380 have problems with it's Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines at the start?
