Morning Dixie... I used some of that soccer info you gave me on my English neighbor last week, and he hasn't talked to me since. Just the way I like it actually, but Mrs DivePac is very, very angry with me, oh dear.

Not depraved Kristian, maybe crazy, but definitely not depraved.

I wasn't trying to pressure you for a turn before, as I'm not speed freak with turns, any-old turn rate is good for me.

I know, Des. We agreed on a slow-paced game. I just didn't want us to both sit around waiting for a turn that was forever lost in Limbo...

Martin, do you have some video saves from your combat in "World of Tanks"?

BTW, few more questions...

What is your favorite vehicle?

Did you pay for some stuff or you always used the "free" patch (i.e. earning by playing instead of buying)?

I've got some, although I haven't uploaded any yet. TBH a lot of them are probably pretty boring to watch I tend to play long range tanks rather than close in brawlers. So there's a lot of skulking in bushes and shooting off a couple of rounds before relocating.

At the moment the Matilda is my favourite vehicle. Strong with a decent gun but so sloooooooow, once she gets into combat though she's a monster. A month ago I would have said my favourite was the StuG III or JagdPzIV kitted out for long range sniping. Most vehicles can be equipped in a couple of different ways, the StuG can be used as a long range tank destroyer or a closer range assault gun for example.

I've paid for one vehicle, the Pz IV S which I'm using to train my German medium crews. Basically a Pz IV with schurtzen and a Panther turret, good for sniping. Also the occasional premium account over holiday periods. It is possible to play and do well without paying real money for anything, you won't advance as fast as people who do pay but you aren't at a disadvantage in combat.

It's not a simulation, but it is usually a fun approximation of tank combat with a basis in history.

No worries, mate. Certainly don't schedule an enema on my behalf!

What's all this TeamViewer then?

RGR - thanks for info Martin!

BTW, I played this so long ago that I forgot - is there a way to play with two humans in one tank (one driver and one in turret firing gun)?

Dixie,

According to your screenie, the most you've knocked out in one battle is 7. Weren't we supposed to ask you about the time that you knocked out 20 enemy tanks in the same battle? Let me guess how that conversation will go:

THREADster: "Dixie, tell us about the time in WoT that you knocked out 20 enemy tanks without loss to yourself."

Dixie: "Sure, mate. It never happened."

Or somesuch?

To be fair, he never claimed to done that. What he said was that he'd killed 7 tanks and survived 30 hits to his own tank.

Well, there I was. Just me on my own against 15 enemy tanks. And 14 others who called themselves allies. But I knew better, they just hadn't turned on me yet. So I bravely waited until both sides were shooting at each other before shooting them in the back. Once I had finished my so called allies I took the fight to the other team. I killed them all and saved the day. Then the president of America wanted to make me king of the world because my e-peen is so huge. Butinstead I stole his car and drove to Mexico where I was declared e-emperor of the world and the reincarnation of rommel, manstein, zhukov, monty, patton, le clerc, wittmann, ghengis and liddell-hart combined.

I asked them not to put that on my stats because I'm so modest.

I play WOTanks often...whenever some idiot is being just that, I tell them to not wake up their parents... thats usually a good one IMO..

Don't get bitter, get better is one of my all time favs..

That's what I was playing, in the mighty Matilda.

Darn fun game that is. Got any tips for a n003?

Play Russian tanks. The general consensus is that the devs have been generous in regards to all things Soviet.

Me being who I am, thats the one I went for.

I would appreciate any tips on research/buying improvements and when it is time to buy a new tank.

I would say that there's no definite rules. Keep with the MS1 until you feel like you've got a good grasp of the game at the very least. Research all the modules and get an elite tank and train the crew up. If you've got the patience then wait until you've got enough credits to buy a new tank and train the crew to 75% There's a huge difference in that 25% I raced through the early tiers and sort of regretted it, now I'm trying to play 50 games minimum on each tank. Eventually you'll find a tank you really like, when that happens it's worth investing in some equipment.

Also remember that to get anything good you have to go through tier 4 and the light tanks there. Those are scout tanks and scouting is hard, so unless you enjoy it blitz through that one as fast as you can. The scout tanks get thrown into some horrible match ups and unless you know what you're doing it's a horrible experience. I tried scouting and I was terrible.

Keep an eye out for special events. If the NA server is like the EU one then the KV1S gets bonus credits most months.

Thank you Sir!

Have a great time Kristian!

BTW, soon the "World of Warplanes" and the "World of Battleships" will follow...

I would be interested in the latter.

Its not that bad. I died 3 times but killed 1 tank. This is significantly better than my last experience with a game of this kind. A friend convinced me to download Planetside 2. Without exaggeration, I died 25 times without even having a chance to shoot at a legitimate target.

Did I ever tell you about the time I killed 7 enemy tanks and took 30 hits and survived to win the match. You'll soon learn how to get the hang of things.

Ive gotten 3 so far using a BT. I assume it gets better as the tanks get more survivable. BTW, what happens if you buy the tank without a crew?
