ORIGINAL: Dixie Finally back from Hendon, they've got some very nice aeroplanes there. The only Defiant in the world, the only original Halifax, a Hudson, two seat FW190, a pair of Bf109s, Bf110 and Ju88 nightfighters. Also a Heinkel 111 that was 'acquired' from a USAAF unit, Sunderland flying boat, Me262 and Meteor, Vulcan, RAF Liberator. There's a few that I'd like to see on BBMF, like a Mosquito, Beaufighter, Bf109, Bf110 and Blenheim. The last time I was at Hendon , back in 2005 (my 8th or 9th visit) they had just pulled the Halifax out of the Zudier Zee , and they were'nt going to restore it, but leave it as a wreck-memorial. (LIke they did with the Gladiator they had). Did they restore her? Did you go by Tube? I only ask , because if I recall it's actually at Colningsdale not Hendon (as I found to my misfortune the 1st two trips) but the great thing about the tube stop is a truly magnificent model (hobby) shop. I forget the name, but it began with an "H". Did you visit it?
