Well I'll have to save this impulse for tomorrow - I want to take my time on this, sorting out the Japanese fleets, including the Kido Butai

The CW forgot to reorganise their aircraft... This means mopping up the CW should be straightforward. And so it proves.

In the Pacific, the US transports Nimitz to Hawaii, while in the Med, Force H from Gibraltar sail to the Italian Coast and seek to find Italian convoys...once again this proves unsuccessful...

In India the CW lose a second Infantry unit to the partisan counter . 3:1 +6 is not good odds...

That's weird. Why Would a Dutch transport not be able to enter Alexandria or Suez? Had to place it in Bardia....

Netherlands is a minor country aligned to you and so is Egypt. The foreign troop commitments rule therefore applies. This is a major pain but unless Netherlands is completely conquered you have to learn to play with those restrictions for the Dutch transport.

11.11.5 Active major powers
....
• minor country units can’t enter a hex controlled by another minor country aligned with their side unless they
satisfy the foreign troop commitment rules.

18.2 Not co-operating
....
Foreign troop commitments
A major power or minor country unit that ends any step in the home country of a friendly major power it
doesn’t co-operate with is destroyed unless:
• it started the step there; or
• it started the step elsewhere and the unit satisfies the foreign troop commitment limit.
A minor country unit that ends any step in the home country of an aligned minor country on the same side is
destroyed unless:
• it started the step there; or
• it started the step elsewhere and the unit satisfies the foreign troop commitment limit.
....
You satisfy the foreign troop commitment limit if there is at least one HQ from the unit’s home country there
(any Commonwealth HQ will do for Commonwealth units) and the total number of that country’s non-HQ units there
is less than or equal to the total printed reorganization values of the HQs.

The Japanese try a ground strike against a couple of Chinese units in Ichang. The Japanese keep up their 100% record and completely miss the target....

The Japanese have little choice but to pull out of Kweillin as their reinforcements in Canton are disorganised and cannot come to their aid.

The turn ends with the Germans moving troops to the east and some units ordered to western France to take care of the pesky partisan in Bordeaux.

Since you play with so many optional rules I suspect that it is time that Germany familiarize themselves with the Construction Engineers optional rule.

If Germany already had this nailed down I am impressed. This is one of the rules I tend to forget.

22.4 Optional units
....
Construction Engineers
You can only use an occupied or conquered red factory, after the first production step that you had an ENG
unit (even disorganized) in that factory hex. [Clarification. This rule also applies to red factories that have been
retaken by their original owner - Jan. 13, 1998.]
Any major port you occupy or conquer is only a minor port until repaired. It is repaired after the first
production step that you had an ENG unit (even disorganized) in that port hex.
[Clarification. A single ENG can repair multiple items in a hex in the same turn (e.g., a major port and a factory) -
Sept. 24, 1997.]

Thank-you. A bizarre rule - but fair enough, another rule I was playing wrong no doubt in the boardgame

While the Germans continue moving their few organised units east.

Otherwise, there is nothing to report.

The Cw turn is equally is uneventful - the Chinese continue to prudently withdraw in the face of growing Japanese strength.

In North Africa, the CW has surrounded the disorganised anti-aircraft unit caught between Homs and Benghazi. The CW can only get one unit to fight, but with odds of 5:1 +11 they go for it...

President Roosevelt is getting a tad miffed with the Japanese build up in China.. He orders an embargo on strategic materials to Japan (this reduces Japanese entry to 23 and rises tension to 6.

Roosevelt also agrees to provide resources to the Western Allies.

Thanks Orm - I'm reading up on US Entry now. AAR has come to a bit of a halt at present due to PP difficulties.

Looking at the US Entry Options chart might actually be more help than reading up on the roles. The notes are especially important.

Right, so the way I get the tension pool up is to choose the entry options? I take it there is no other way of getting the tension pool number up?

And the "Is it time to declare war yet" chart is also of some importance when handling the tension pool.
