Ok, just finished speaking with the warehouse. Hundreds of orders were packed up and ready to ship yesterday. The FedEx Air orders went out, but FedEx apparently failed to pick up the Ground orders. The warehouse scheduled a new special pick-up for those this morning and have the FedEx rep in discussing why that happened and how we can avoid that in the future. The upshot is that some international air orders went out first, which is not typical, but ground orders are following this morning.

Regards,

- Erik

ok Erik thanks for the reply. I am going to say this as a longtime Matrix customer and I doubt there are too many that have supported your company with the wallet more than me................ya'll aren't scoring too many goodwill points by making people buy the books firstly and then the way this shipping thing has been handled from the git go (no European distribution setup and evidently no shipping/rec. manager). I think I would also be talking to whoever is in charge of shipping out orders at your facility along with the FedEx guy.

Captskillet:

The explanation has been given by Erik, and it's obvious it wshould have reached you before.

Just wanted to say that not as much before as it would look because I bought less than 24 hours after you. Maybe at the same time, mine was an early order too.

Maybe change our ground orders to overnight delivery, so we don't have to wait until next week to receive our orders?

Hi Captskillet,

I agree - we had confirmation before release and testing through store and warehouse that all was ready to go, but there is always the chance of something still going wrong. Unfortunately it had to happen on this release and over a holiday weekend. We have been working on this every day since release and reviewing with all parties. There will be a full analysis of how to avoid this happening again, but fortunately it's not a common event for us. The download helps when things like this happen but we all want you to have your physical copies ASAP. I though the vast majority would ship out yesterday, the rare screw-up from FedEx was a rude surprise this morning for all of us. It won't be much longer - all back-orders will ship out by the end of today per the discussion I had with the warehouse this morning.

Regards,

- Erik

After all we have the videos, the pdfs, the game running, we just need to wait for the paper edition and the physical backup of the game. In my case I was not anxious at all.

Hi,

No shipping notice for me either. Ordered the game a few hours after it was released.

Do I need to do something?

Thank you, Erik, for keeping us informed of the status. Sure, I'm grumpy and want my books ASAP, but I understand things happen and I appreciate you staying on top of it.

FYI that means your entire order has shipped. I have no idea why it says Priority Mail though, should be FedEx. Could you e-mail me a copy of that to erikr@matrixgames.com? I'll investigate.

Regards,

- Erik

Hi Dr. Foo,

Got an answer for you from the warehouse:

"There are some instances that we are seeing in which FedEx will not deliver Ground service. For instance PO Boxes or Hawaii. Our system had automatically switched those to Priority Mail. So far I think out of the first several hundred orders, there were 5 that were PO boxes."

So it is indeed on the way, the full package, but via Priority Mail to keep the shipping price within what you paid and allow for delivery to your location.

Regards,

- Erik

I don't have a PO Box, I get UPS and FedEx all the time...but it's OK, I much prefer USPS. With USPS I don't need to be home, with FedEx I have to take a day off and I spend all day waiting for the delivery that sometimes doesn't arrive until 7:45pm! With USPS I get my mail by 10am Mon - Sat.

This is a far better deal for me.

If its supposed to have gone out on that 'early morning pickup' from fedex to get the ground shipments 'they' missed picking up yesterday shouldn't I have gotten a shipping email by now 12 PM CST (10AM PST)?

This is my first purchase of a physical product rather than a digital download, and I have to say that this first experience is being very disappointing. I bought the game one week ago and I have not received any email from Matrix Games or Fedex about the shipping status (What about a tracking number?)... Nothing.

Hi Kristatos,

For what it's worth, that's not normal for us, but everything is on track now and you will receive a notification to your order e-mail today or tomorrow.

Regards,

- Erik

Hi Erik - I submitted a support ticket very early this morning before reading about any of this. A slitherine representative responded within 20 minutes, and said my order shipped on 11/13/2013.

I then updated the ticket and asked for the notification and tracking #. I have not had a response back yet.

If my order did indeed ship on the 13th like they told me, shouldn't I have my e-mail notification or something by now?

-=Jeff

Did anyone else notice Erik said several hundred orders? This is indeed good news since that means a lot of demand. Which also means Steve gets paid and will get the hardware to help make the task of AI a bit easier.

If those several hundreds are all MWIF, than it's nice. I don't know if Matrix is shipping any other games too...
