We really are trying to help you with your max unit problem. But DerCs just not presenting me with enough targets to eliminate.

Soviet 107s and 120mm mortars continue to redefine the banks of the Yauza river. I suspect that the Germans are having a very difficult time making progress underneath the metal hailstorm we're providing.

Found a SiG33 - she's our new target. :p

Happy Valentine's Day, Everyone. :D

Okay, Kaakao will be out on holiday this week. I'm ready to continue as soon as he gets back, and I'm confident he is too.

Jess,
I'm really sorry I missed your PMs earlier. I have responded now, although perhaps a bit late.. I think I now understand what's up with the max units limit.

And it's time to play some more.

Was sick about half of the week but good vacation anyway.

This turn, I got to move ! Atleast some of my units got understood what rallying means and made some progress. First V-hex captured, plenty of more to capture.

The bridgehead is still pinned down, not much happening there except one StuG getting damaged.

A landing by our infantry caught the Russians unprepared and we were able to destroy an infantry gun.

Back to Scharf. :p

Got an answer.

Poor Scharf lost his Motherboard. His first 'quick fix' didn't work. Now he's going for the cost-effective solution. It could be a while yet.

But the good news is, he's alive and kicking. :D

Glad to hear everything is okay.

Both Kaakao and I will be attending some final exams starting next monday until the start of April. This may or may not have an effect on how often we'll be able to play the turns, only time will tell. But after that there should be no more delays. :)

Hope Scharf will be able to solve the computer problems!

More tank fire at the barges crossing the river. No luck, though. My conscipts are doing exceedingly well, together with the artillery they are actually pushing the enemy back!!!

Thanks for your patience, sirs, and I hope we get running smoothly once more... a few exams won´t keep our esteemed opponents from assaulting the Kremlin, will they?;)

"It's just sitting there, sergeant"
"whadda you mean just sitting there"

"It hasn't moved since we spotted it, sergeant."

"Well move up and fling a few grenades into that open turret. If they're hiding, that oughta pop them out."

Lead elements of the Rifle squad crawled forward through the rubble and lobbed a grenade near the german SiG33. The first grenade bounced into the boggies and disabled the SPA's track.

The second grenade, a moment later, landed square inside the open-top turret and exploded, killing the entire crew and totally disabling the vehicle. The rifles slunk back into the rubble, snickering.

Sgt Hezren lifted the field glasses to his eyes and peered across the shattered street to catch some other signs of the advancing Germans through the smoke. Other than the private's report of that unescorted assault gun, all else was quiet along the eastern front.

Fuseliers landing along the riverbanks near the Yauza start receiving their daily dose of 107mm and 120mm HE.

Eat this, Fritz! :p

Soviet/Moscow Defense Forces - we go out of our way to make sure that you have enough rubber boats.

Well, it seems that the soviets have had a great hurry getting those Conscripts fighting. This turn, two of them were around one of my squads, squad rallied, killed the another one and made the other run away. I suggest that you would maybe teach those squads what firing and being under fire means, that's if you wan't to win this game

Also shot still another squad and I'm moving on, lack of barges in the water (still can't get them to unload) is having a huge effect on my reinforces but I'm fighting on.

Nothing major to report. All my units are either pinned down or nowhere near the combat zone.
I hope I'll be able to make some progress soon.

A deceptively quiet turn. My conscripts have spent their fury and retreat demoralized, though their achievements were significiant. The enemy advance was delayed considerable and moderate damage done, quite a difference to last time were the same squads operating in the same area were annihilated without so much as token resistance. Whoever makes it back to our main lines will get transferred to regular infantry!;)

Nothing to report. Well not much anyway. We did spot a Riverboat. That sucker is armed like a Tiger with an 88mm gun.

A RiverTiger??

The few German units we can see are retreating or routed, and under constant artillery barrages.

Welkom to Moskow, Komrades. :D

I also would like to have those "River Tigers" but I have to do it with something else :)

My "wall of steel" is on the move and hopefully I can cover some more ground quickly. My bombarment is working as two of my armored cars shot an AA gun without resistance.

DerCs turn.

The bridgehead is still under heavy artillery barrage. I killed some infantry in minor firefights and still moving to better positions. Yes, actually some of my units moved this turn! My 'river tiger' tried to deal some punishment to Russian partisans but wasn't very successfull.

Still regrouping, though a SdKfz10/4 presented itself as a target of opportunity and took some small arms fire. Just a few scratches, I fear... I took a peek at the River Tiger, and if I am facing anything similiar:(...or worse:eek: ... hmm, time to call in the Red Air Farce???

"Our boys are taking fire along the river, Sir"

"Okay Sergeant. Tell the men to fall back and regroup."

A 75mm Inf Gun takes several shots at the River Tiger. Three shots hit and penetrate, but apparently the River Tiger is nothing but hull and guns. Nothing to sink. So it sits and covers the riverbank. We hates it.

Some progress this time.

Shot a 85mm or 76.2mm AA gun and one inf gun. Also one inf squad was "liberated" and another one run away. Lost a scout car to 12.7mm mg. Maybe this will work out ok. The barge problem remains but have to live with it.

DerC's turn.

A reinforced platoon that just made an amphibious landing is facing mostly demoralised partisans and riflemen. There's a lot of them! Good thing we brought the Flammenwerfers. :D River boats have also proved to be of excellent assistance in landings.
Artillery fire around the bridgehead is also intensifying as Nebelwerfers and 105mm batteries join in.

Sending the turn to Scharf now.

Just as the evil invaders cross our first trench line, we counterattack.

From the smoke the germans have laid to cover their spearhead emerges the pride of the Red Army, the KV-1. Shrugging off the puny opfire of the StuGIIIE, it brings its 76,2mm gun to bear, and the second shot forces the StuG´s crew to bail out. A T-28 follows up, and together the two soviet tanks devastate four (4) enemy SPW halftracks and demoralize a nearby Zugtrupp. Afterwards our heroic armour retreats into the smoke...
