The plan: PT boats go in first to deplete ammo of defenders...the Brown heads in give and receive damage and bombard the field if possible...then Lee heads in to finish off the "cripples" :-)

Status: offline 		Day time? WTF? Evidentarry both Brown and Lee stopped to watch the bioluminescent wakes or something. Now, they are both vulnerable to air attack. Both TF were set to "Bombardment" and "Retirement" which is SUPPOSED to mean night arrival and then get the Hell out.

Status: offline 		There is a synch issue on the replay. In that version of reality Brown battles Musashi and probably sinks her. In any event, it is well that Musashi and the three BB's do not find Brown's force now.

If you are referring to the Provisional GMC unit, that is a self-propelled unit similar to the "Priest" that comes later. I think the gun is only 75mm on the PGMC, but there is no upgrade.

Edit to mention - because it is an assault gun unit, it can be set to Deliberate Attack or Shock Attack instead of just bombardment like most artillery.

Status: offline 		5 Hexes to guarantee a battleship bombardment...anything past that and you have to look at fuel, home port, etc, etc. Fast battleships maybe 6 hexes.

Can't tell you how many ships I have lost over the years to them dithering on a bombardment run.

If you are referring to the Provisional GMC unit, that is a self-propelled unit similar to the "Priest" that comes later. I think the gun is only 75mm on the PGMC, but there is no upgrade.

Edit to mention - because it is an assault gun unit, it can be set to Deliberate Attack or Shock Attack instead of just bombardment like most artillery.

The M3 GMC also served in the Pacific theater, starting with the Battle of Saipan. It proved effective against the Japanese Type 95 Ha-Go and Type 97 Chi-Ha tanks. It later served in the Battle of Okinawa, the Battle of Peleliu and many other island battles.

Good info. I did not realize they had an anti-tank capability but now I see the "SP" designation

I decided to try to get the damaged pre-war BB's to Dobo and cover them with Washington. Because there were many fresh BB's at Boela, I divided the force and gave 1 damaged DD to each BB plus some DD's detached from Lee's force. Lee sortied North to cover them and then back toward Dobo. In the event, the Jap BB's were not a factor but you can probably guess what other IJN assets may have been employed
