I think we all should make a renewed effort to speed our games up. I am not suggesting that we rush the games. But it seems some of the delays are longer than they need to be.

The games we play does not need to be perfect. And that is impossible to achieve even in perfect circumstances and playing this way is less than perfect.

Italy rebases G.50 from France to Malaga. NAV from La Spezia to Bordeaux.

Japan rebases NAV from Shanghai to Hanoi.

No reorgs.

Back to Allies.

Indeed. With both games now back with yourselves, the ball is very much in your court.

That is why I said we all.

Allies use the few surprise points to increase the damage done to the Italian ships.

How will Italy allocate the results?

1st D to Trieste. 2nd D to Duca D'Aosta. If Trieste not aborted, use 1 or 2 A's to abort it, then remainder on Duca.

One cruiser damaged and both aborted.

They sail, I presume, for La Spezia.

Allies decline to search in the Atlantic.

CW activates in the West Med.

Will Axis reinforce the West Med with any air?

Edit: I will be away for 1 hour.

The Allied submarines find the Italian convoy and maul it. (die rolls 2 and 9)

Will Italy remain for a second round?

The Submarines stay but are not included for the second round,

No strategic bombing. No Ground Strikes.

Sverdlovsk Milita rails to Vilna and Yeremenko to Eastern Poland.

CW rail one garrison from Casablanca to Algiers.

Franco moves out of Tangier and is replaced by the 2nd Corps. Both are disorganized. 20th Corps is moved to Liverpool.

The Nationalists moves slowly eastwards in Central China. This disorganizes a couple of garrisons. The second cavalry begins a raid behind enemy lines.

Over to Warspite1 for the remainder of the impulse.

Sep/Oct 1941
Impulse: 7 (Allies)

Land Movement (Cont)

Soviet Union
Koniev's 1st Far Eastern Front continue to apply pressure on the twin cities of Changchun/Kirin, but the going is hard in the prevailing weather conditions. His mood is not improved with the news that the formation of the 2nd Far Eastern Front will no longer happen and the responsibility for taking Manchuria will rest entirely on his shoulders.

The 1st Mountain Corps, with the 1st Mountain Division attached, is moved into the mountains southeast of Kirin to bolster the southern flank of the advance and to try and stop further reinforcement of the area by the enemy. The Soviets are desperate to clear these urban areas and the surrounding mountains so that the 4th Guards Mechanised Army can exploit the good tank country beyond.

No change to the European theatre. The Soviets continue to press on the border of the Nazi-Soviet pact dividing line to show the Germans that attacking would be folly, but I don't think Berlin is listening...

Chinese Communists
Meanwhile, Mao sends his mobile Cavalry Corps deep into the mountains southeast of Yenan.

USA
The XXIV Infantry Corps is unloaded at Hawaii

Land Combat
None

Rebase

Soviet Union
Rebase a couple of units south of Harbin

Commonwealth
A Spitfire unit is unloaded at Cisneros in the Spanish Sahara.
A Whitley bomber in India rebases to Singapore.
A Blenheim bomber rebases from Morocco to Malta.
A Wellesley bomber rebases from Spanish Morocco to Bilbao.
A Lancaster bomber rebases from London to Harwich.

USA
A Hudson rebases from Honolulu to Midway.

Reorganisation
None

End of Turn
The turn continues on a 2 (1 required)

Weather
Weather throw is a 10

Nice, warm, cosy, weather you rolled.

Why we didn't roll that weather two years ago eludes me.

S/O 41 Axis 9

No DoW or alignments.

Germany and Japan land. Italy combined.

Germany flies Fw-190 to Biscay 2-box. Italy sends a NAV to the 2-box.

Italy sails CP to Italian Coast.

The Italians decline combat in West Med but will initiate in Biscay.

The Germans and Italians each add a further NAV to the 2-box. Do the Allies wish to send anything up? They all can make up to the 1-box.

While RAF fighter squadrons from Spain flock to the defence of the convoys, the Italian submarine flotilla stays in the depths.

In the murk of autumn rains, neither side can find each other. Searches: Axis 4, Allies 10.

No ground strikes.
