I think warspite1 is right. I actually forgot how bad we rolled in Spain. But I remember that we have been fighting there more than an year...

Which kind of tells its own story... The Allies have been crucified in the air and at sea around the Iberian Peninsular, but the luck seemed to desert you guys when it came to boots on the ground.

Memory is a funny thing. I went back and checked all the land attacks in Spain and against Gibraltar. And Axis has made a total of 18 attacks with the average of 5.5. And that is exactly average.

Attacks in Spain before Gibraltar is slightly below average while the attacks on Gibraltar was higher than average. Then the attacks in Spain after Gibraltar has fallen brings the average down to exactly 5.5.

So with that said I think I was pretty close with my statement that I think they have been close to average in Spain. Although I am not completely sure if the attacks on Gibraltar should be counted as attacks in Spain.

If you are interested of the individual die rolls I can post them.

The more we roll, the closer to average we get. That is the law of statistics.

What matters is do you roll 1 when you have 90% chance to succeed...

Indeed. Although when considering the odds of the attacks I would say that the German luck in Spain and Gibraltar increases slightly.

Indeed - and that is why luck is so difficult to define with WIF. E.g. both players roll exactly the same land combat throws - exactly the same.

But player A throws all his ones at the start of the turn - or when the odds are low, while player B does the opposite. Not to mention throwing the 8,9, and 10 (or 1,2 and 3) on key targets - again makes a massive difference.

Plus of course we naturally remember certain things and gloss over the luckier elements

Too bad we were not here reading at the right time. That would have been even better espionage mission than what we executed in reverse game

No declarations of war.

Land: USSR, China
Combined: USA, CW
Naval: France

No Port Strikes. No naval air.

France send a BB and a cruiser to Arabian Sea. France also send a BB to Mozambique Channel.

CW load the TRS in South Africa with a FTR and send them to Arabian Sea. CW also send a couple of BB and one cruiser to the Arabian Sea.

USA send a CV from Hawaii and 2 cruisers from Norfolk to the West Coast.

Allies can search in five sea areas. CW begin with the Coral Sea.

The Allied submarines stay for another round. Will Italy stay as well? And if they stay will they add additional air to the sea area?

Impulse #5

Both sides failed to find the second time in the Italian Coast. (Allies 7 and Axis 3)

Allies decline to search in the remaining sea areas. And Axis have no sea area they can activate.

After rolling so high for the strategic bombing I thought we should roll low for the ground strike to even things out. Apparently not.

What info are you looking for? There is no more Soviet action until land movement so if you send over the file when you have got up to the Soviet movement I will take it from there.

The Allies need to send an American bombing mission over Germany. This will result in Colonel Hogan becoming a POW. This then gives the Allies a +10 die modifier for bomb attacks on Dusseldorf - but only Dusseldorf. Once Col. Hogan gets captured, it's a lock for Dusseldorf to become flat ... as a pancake.

The Glasgow militia moves from London to Dover.

The Spanish 5th Corps liberate the last enemy controlled part of Spanish Morocco. Franco declare it a day of victory.

The Nationalist Chinese makes minor adjustments of their lines but due to bad weather combined with low mobility two of the units moved become disorganized.
