Stalino open with recon.

Mp's are horrible. No way I can take Rostov and get the south army hq split.

We were prepared to make a second stronger attack.

Now I own the Crimea.

My 41' highwater mark.

I did not know that German rr crews could just take the week off willy nilly.

My command is weak!

Good job on securing the Crimea, you can send those units to pluck gaps in the front now. Try to put your Sec Army HQs in key railnodes, Kharkov would be a good example. Basically everything that has more than 2 raillines going out. And then just pray that the AI doesn't do something stupid.

So here is the big snow strategy

This highlighted unit 16-48 20th armor, if unhindered, could reach the hex just SW of Tikvin.

5 hexes left, 3 hexes north west (past the rough hex), and then 4 hexes north east.

That is the plan.

All armor will be redirected west to open a corridor.

Key hasty attack lineup. I did not want to use mp's to surround and rout.

I figured I could keep attacking and move this hex north of my penetration and out of the way

Cav shattered. One more hex to view to see if we can cut zoc into Tivken.

The 16-48 armor is revved up and waiting for the go go go signal

Stopped by measly antitank unit, which probably has a win loss record of 0-20.

final north.

My attack would have failed even with this antitank unit gone. A Russian cav was unspotted in swamp on way to Tivkin.

Alas it was a good try chaps.

I am bringing up tank reserves from other areas to keep the push on towards the lake.

Push east to cut rr's.

All units very far from rr supply

kind of surprised you don't have some of those Romanians building forts by stalino for winter in the south.

In the north, I really think you overreached...you have a nice pocket for sure by the lake if you went west instead of trying to drive north. Should have easily encircled like 10-12 Soviet formations if done right and given u a chunk of land in good terrain not exposing your flanks just prior to blizzard.

Just following orders:)

The dreams remain big: We attack not knowing how bad the blizzard will be.

my last move north.

Now it became my last move as I then did airsupply to the forward units,
and unbeknownst to me I found out that airsupply now saps away mp's of the receiving units (btw I disagree with this new rule although understand its intent).
Thus I was not able to move the ss unit one more hex. The lead unit will be easily cut off next turn.

live and learn.

final north position. Notice gap in forward thrust.

On good note I am one hex away from cutting rr to Leningrad. Bad news only one more turn of snow.

Reports poor in of troops starting to freeze to death.
