Chicago is OK if you stick to the central business district.....

Some of my faves are Minneapolis in January - I like the cold - but that is cold. Thankfully they have the elevated enclosed walkways between a lot of the office buildings.

Moscow in Jan - also a bit chilly. It was a long time ago but they had this large heated pool. You would go to the locker / changing room and then there was a swim out tunnel to get to the pool. And once in the pool you tried to stay underwater as much as possible because the water was heated and the air was well, Moscow in Jan.

Minneapolis is not that cold in January. But that is a dry cold so it is better. Saint Paul has a winter carnival with an ice castle.

Suomi people would be in a steam bath/room/house then go into a lake - in January.

I have also been to Abilene where a candy factory gave free samples . . .

The progression of the various bridges called London bridge is all in the song:

quote:

London Bridge is Falling Down

London Bridge is falling down,
Falling down, falling down.
London Bridge is falling down,
My fair lady.

Build it up with wood and clay,
Wood and clay, wood and clay,
Build it up with wood and clay,
My fair lady.

Wood and clay will wash away,
Wash away, wash away,
Wood and clay will wash away,
My fair lady.

Build it up with bricks and mortar,
Bricks and mortar, bricks and mortar,
Build it up with bricks and mortar,
My fair lady.

Bricks and mortar will not stay,
Will not stay, will not stay,
Bricks and mortar will not stay,
My fair lady.

Build it up with iron and steel,
Iron and steel, iron and steel,
Build it up with iron and steel,
My fair lady.

Iron and steel will bend and bow,
Bend and bow, bend and bow,
Iron and steel will bend and bow,
My fair lady.

Build it up with silver and gold,
Silver and gold, silver and gold,
Build it up with silver and gold,
My fair lady.

Silver and gold will be stolen away,
Stolen away, stolen away,
Silver and gold will be stolen away,
My fair lady.

Set a man to watch all night,
Watch all night, watch all night,
Set a man to watch all night,
My fair lady.

Suppose the man should fall asleep,
Fall asleep, fall asleep,
Suppose the man should fall asleep?
My fair lady.

Give him a pipe to smoke all night,
Smoke all night, smoke all night,
Give him a pipe to smoke all night,
My fair lady.

I have been to London Bridge!

Maybe you have....but that is Tower bridge

I did not state what bridge it was! I just stated that I have been to London Bridge!

Didn't London Bridge fall down and some rich guy got all the pieces and put them together in Arizona somewhere?

No. It was sinking into the mud so it was replaced. He used the exterior cladding of part of it on a steel structure to make it look like part of the London Bridge. He was into oil and chain saws.

Disregarding this nonsense.

But the very act of stating you're <D-word> gives it meaning!

If a thread fell in a forest and no one was there to <D-word> it, would it die of loneliness?

disregard pls

I’m confused... do we have to disregard the thread, or to disregard the « pls » ?

And are we forced to do it ? Or only in so far as it’s convenient for us ?
