Yes. All the changes I suggested in the above require the use of the editor. You have to load the scenario up, enter the editor, make the changes, save the Scenario, preferably with another name. Then when done you can play with that scenario, instead of the one in the menu, and get the desired effect. In the above I outline the two options for how to change the color of a unit type, and one option to change the unit text, for all counters of that nation. Personally I would go for the easiest change, making the text colors different for each nation. I would go with yellow for the Soviets, mostly because the change will effect all the counters. So the red ones would have the same text color as the blackish (Guards) ones. And no, you cannot change the color for a game you are already playing, I believe.
