Status: offline 		Using my SC playing trend as a guide, I have to present a scenario of two different playing profiles.

First, the veteran or the player familiar with WiF mechanics.  In the beginning, probably a 10% investment in solitaire and/or AI play and for those that do not have the resources for human play then obviously that will be in the range of 90%, perhaps 10% for Hotseat with a friend or family member.  The 90 percentile range for PBEM and Netplay will be the norm for most vets as this game begs for human interaction.

Second, the novice, again in the beginning solitaire/AI play will be the greatest time garnish and as they become accustomed to the features and confident in their playing ability they will seek out the human opponents, so assuredly the reciprocal of the above percentages seem likely.

IMO the most important developmental playing feature for MWiF will be the multi-player per side, Netplay or PBEM, where veterans can get together with the rookies and bring them into the realm of WiF human competition as the game is highly complex.

Besides, stating a constant for a variable situation is at best, misleading!  Things always change...as much as they stay the same and I'm sure a player just becoming familiar with WiF will develop a playstyle accordingly, which I will be.  I'll try to play from every perspective, how about that, 5 categories divided into 100% over a time set.

I'll interject 20% per category!

And you thought this was going to be simple!

Status: offline 		Crap!  You guys are trying to pin me down and I'm training to be a politician...deal with the ambiguity!

For real...I'll be a noobie..at first, therefor I will spend 90% of my time, say 45 / 45 doing Solitaire / AI play and perhaps 10% engaged with someone who might accept my ignorant play, hopefully a very knowledgeable WiF player who can explain the idiosyncracies of the game to me...in PBEM mode.

After I learn the game to some degree of competency then I will probably dwell in the "human drama of MWiF competition" 90% of the time (PBEM), only traversing to the solitaire mode for "move modeling" 10% of the time.  Is that specific enough?

Aspiring scum suckers...err...I mean Politicians ....should never allow the veil to be lifted on the clarity of their positions.......How am I doing?

You sound as though you won't play a human player for fear of defeat!

To beat a human player is very satisfying.

If you lose, you learn something and you improve your game.

I usually have a handful of PBEM games going at the same time. First in first out means I play maybe 3 - 4 turns of any game a week.

Solitaire - 5 %
Head-to-head (Hotseat) - 0%
AI Opponent - 25%
NetPlay - 70%
PBEM - 0%

I hope to be able to get my "WiF buddies" to play over the net. If that is not the case, the amount of AI play will be higher and some PBEM might be thrown into the mix.

Looking forward to play the game!

I agree with all of the above comments Joe, except for one thing we are not talking about MWIF are we? I am referring to MWIF and MWIF only not to other games, I might change my mind about pbem games when I get feed back from the forums on that method of play but not until then. And why is this game not for you?

Welcome to the forum!

You might want to read through the threads on the tutorials - most of the 120+ posted tutorial pages are what you will see in the finished product.

Be sure to critique the new posts I am making on the PBEM too, since that is a feature you intend to use. Whenever you see me post a screen shot you should take it as an opportunity to suggest modifications. Though I end up ignoring most, I read and consider all comments, and some of the best features of MWIF are a direct result of forum members telling me what they think.

Status: offline 		Although I popsted my initial percentages previously. I have to agree that as a player matures with the game I (hopefully) believe netplay will increase. So 6 to 9 months from release I hope to revise my percentages to 10 % Solitaire, 25% AI and 65% Netplay.

Now that sounds like a winning strategy.

Axis vs Allies could be extremely playable with only two players.
The other option would be for a third gamer playing the Soviets.

That's probably the maximum number that I would start a game with multiple players.
