Here is what I am doing as allies. Lots of critique would be nice: I also am not using TRACOM. If I get a lot of 80+ pilots I may start putting them in in groups of ten. As of now (apr 42) I have about five in TRACOM. When the three provisional squadrons of P-40s showed up in Oz with 30 exp. I ran a little test to check the high exp pilots. I put one 80+ pilot in one group, two in the second, and none in the last. I gave each group a similar leader, 50-ish leadership points (there are many bad leaders). I was not scientific in the test, but it did seem that the group with two 80+ pilots gained exp the fastest. Still, by the time they disbanded, they were only around 35 exp. But... they had high air exp, sixty-ish. So, my goal is this: Australian pilots' primary mission is ASW. So all those 18 plane wirraway squadrons go to inland bases, get maxed out with "boot" pilots" and start a regime: 1 Month general training; 1 Month Naval search; 1 Month ASW; 1 Month Naval Bombing. All at 90%, I've not had any problems with fatigue or moral, I just let them rest till moral is at 100 and fat at 0. They finish this regime right about the time the Hudson III with radar is available. I then upgrade the wirraways to the better plane and cover the entire coast with ASW groups. Some of these squadrons go to Sydney and Melbourne and go 40% ASW 50% training and 10% percent rest. I haven't been able to tell if these groups gain experience faster than the units simply training. The less than 18 squadrons train naval attack and ground bomb for the beaufort upgrades. On the west coast, all those lancers at portland train at 80%. I try to have enough surviving mohawks as well to fill out all 80 planes with lancers and mos with a buffer of one or two in reserve for those green pilots' inevitable ops losses. They have a similar regime, 1 month gen train, 1 month escort train, 1 month strafing train. They each get one 80+ exp pilot. They get leaders with low aggresion but high leadership in hopes they gain points quicker, while I free up high aggression leaders for fighter sweeps. Once the three month regime is over I send the 55-ish pilots into the pool to get combat experience on the front. If i have more time I give them a bit more escort training. Similarly surving buffaloes get a brit squadron at dehli or something. 16 planes with 24 pilots on constant training. Lots of micromanagement, but all of my front line groups have decent pilots. The biggest annoyance with all of this is the disappearing pilot bug or whatever it is. When you click on 15 pilots to get sent to your group only 2 or three show up on the list. This cause me to usually overdraw and then have micromange twice as much. Please tell us what you guys do.
