Welp, that was Pacific Rim. Good, but not great. Solid effort from del Toro.

Artichokes in the wild... They are pretty easy to grow, and you have varieties that will endure frost, and others that are fine with hot summers. A plant will last several years, but it takes quite a bit of real estate, it can grow up to 2 metres, and there is a trade off between having a few big artichokes and many small ones.

Francois

Hi Francois. Have you seen Frank Oz's "Little Shop of Horrors"? The one with Rick Moranis and Ellen Greene? Boy-oh-boy, Audrey II (the plant) looks just like a monster artichoke "feed me ... feed me ... feed me, boy ! "

Nice "smallie" for ya, NoDak. Had a nice outing with my father in law this morning. A largemouth bass, this smallie, half a dozen sunfish, a white crappie and a perch. Beautiful morning too: cool in the morning, warming to the mid-70s. Oughta do that more often.

@ Dixie,

I thought we'd already had a chat about your proclivity for hanging around the landing zones near big planes?

Join the fun Threadsters! Play some fantasy football, unless you live in the Colonies. Then you should play Fantasy Soccerball. I've set up a league, all you need to do is start a team and use the invite code: 950499-238897

Impartial (and possibly incompetent) advice is available from myself for those with no knowledge of British, well English (OK, just the Premier League), football.

Finally managed a bit of relaxation this weekend! Mrs. USSA is safely and happily lounging on the beach in Punta Cana with her best friend and I managed to spend about 5 hours at lounging at the apartment complex pool, drinking rum and reading "The Third World War: The Untold Story". I thought it would impress all of the lovely young ladies at the pool, but they must have already read it.

I think that actually, there's no book in the world that can possibly make you any more attractive to the ladies than you already are.

As for the WWIII book-there've been a few of these over the years. Author?

This one is Sir John Hackett. He wrote "The Third World War" around 1980 and this one from about 1982 expands on it.
