Offensively it was ok. But defensively it was bad. The two goals allowed hurt to see. Was the defenders sleeping standing up?

The first goal was courtesy of Lamela - the second was just shocking defensively.

I would disagree that it was okay offensively - although of course if Kane buries the couple of chances he had then it would have been......

hi there, sorry... i didn't read the whole thread (mea culpa),
but could someone be so kind and tell me how to play footie16 (football manager 16) with database updates and player image updates?
i want to do a 'historical' roleplay - if that's possible...

i know how to download, install, and play with them updates BUT does someone just starting out with FM16 (eg. ME!, i bought 14 and 15, too but still a bloody noob) install all the latest updates(eg. transfer updates) and start playing the season(in fact, last season) with all the new stuff and players or do i start from the 'beginning' and install the transfers and database updates when they're due?

is this a simple question?!

cheers everyone!
chem!

It is a simple question but not with a simple answer. At least not for me.

But if you want to do a 'historical' roleplay I would try and play without the transfer and image updates. But I do not think there is any point in installing them during the game.

Well of course it depends what you are expecting. If you are expecting the league title then disappointment is most likely. But if you are expecting a Champions League spot and perhaps a good cup run or two, then I think you have a good chance of NOT being disappointed. I really like Klopp - he's a breath of fresh air - and I think he will do a really good job.

Its interesting this season. I think Man City will walk away with it, but who will finish in the top 4?

Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton 5 into 3 won't go.

Don't write off Everton I think Koeman is going to be top drawer. And remember what I said early this summer about Mourinho......

And the current champions?

And Tottenham would surely be a challenger?

Leicester won't trouble the top 4 this season - and Spurs won't trouble the top 8.

"Tottenham may one day host a NFL franchise, says chairman Daniel Levy"

"White Hart Lane redevelopment caters for American football
We welcome co-operation with the NFL and a dedicated team, says Levy

Tottenham’s chairman Daniel Levy hopes a London NFL franchise will one day take up a permanent home at the Premier League club’s new stadium.

The area around White Hart Lane is in the process of extensive redevelopment as Spurs build a new 61,000-seat venue – part of the Northumberland Development Project – which is set to include facilities for American football such as a retractable grass pitch with a synthetic playing surface. A 10-year partnership is already in place which will see two NFL matches a year hosted at their new home, which is scheduled to open for the start of the 2018-19 season."

Tottenham fans might finally get a real team to cheer for! (Complete with NFL cheerleaders)

Is Tottenham the doormat of the EPL?

Too lazy to check. That he might struggle perhaps?

What I'd like to see is Mourinho putting his intelligence to good use and drive his Porsches like they are supposed to be driven: like er... Porsches that is.

But I think it's too late, he will always refuse to see the Light.

Still, first year in charge: he needs / deserves time to prove his point aka hear-my-bus-a-comin'...

Yes, I was there.

There was additional activities to get our senior members, or fans, to the match as well.

Indeed.

I read today, in the local newspaper, that this event had been the talk of the week in the senior homes.

The club had arranged transport from the local senior homes to the match and some activities (for the seniors) before the match as well.

I wonder just how many high profile games have results that aren't all they should be?

I guess Spurs were lucky Anderlecht didn't do the same thing in the final (which we won on penalties).

Shocking - and sad for the players. UEFA are as bad as FIFA.

aye, I remember that Anderlecht-Forest match as one of the most blatently rigged games I ever saw.

btw, new source of *fun* in Scottish football is a revival of an old tradition. Every now and then a club gets promoted to the top league for the very first time. Tradition is that they get a nice round of applause at the start of their first visit to all the other 11 grounds. All very nice and friendly.

Except everyone is doing it to Rangers (who are legally and technically a 'new' club) ... this is not being well received by most of the denizens of Ibrox .. which of course adds to everyone elses sense of this being a jolly jape.

Sad indeed. But not shocking. Or maybe you meant shocking that some corruption got exposed?

Thank you for sharing.

Robert or Orm, I'm not that familiar with European football (soccer) but reading about the corruption scandal you mentioned, what (if any) corruption history has there been in the English Football League (EFL)? This is the main league in Britain right? Thanks in advance...

As far as I am aware
there is only one 'betting scandal' that has rocked the game - although I am sure there has been the odd individual case before and since.

That scandal came in the early 60's. I remember my dear old dad telling me about it and there was a TV program made about it that was aired shortly after he died

One of the players involved - Swan of Sheffield Wednesday - may well have played for England in the World Cup in 1966 had he taken a different path.

Edit: Found these as affecting the 1st Division (the old Premiership) the top division in the English professional league.
