Thanks for the input. As there were Allied TFs at Singapore, those were attacked and not the port. But, hanging around.

You're absolutely right about Palembang - that is indeed my objective! IJA 5th Div is on transports at Singkawang, using a warp move from Samah on Dec 7 to get there. That amphib TF will follow the 2 BB TF and a CA TF in to one hex from Palembang on Dec 8 (the BBs leading in case Force Z goes there), then follow the CA TF into Palembang on Dec 9. Meanwhile, all three covered by KB which will move from 7 hexes east of Singapore to 5 hexes SE. There will be no early invasion of Mersing this time, as I agreed to do a "closer to historical" invasion of Malaya. Mersing is off the table until Dec 25, per our agreement.

Nothing going to either Wake or Rabaul at the moment. I might use the Guam invasion force to take Wake after Guam is secured. But, I'm also thinking of initially bypassing Rabaul for Buna and Shortlands, then take Rabaul later. There is definitely no hurry to take Wake. The IJA 2nd Div (which mostly starts at Sendai) is going to the Aleutians, so those landings will definitely be a surprise. The TF shows Midway as the destination, but is heading toward Adak as a waypoint.

Once Wake is clear of fighters, bomb the ground units at 11k feet since not much should shoot back. Bomb with Kates as well. Then BBs on the turn of the invasion which could even be a Fast Transport mission with a Remain On Station so they can bombard with the remaining ammo the next day if need.
