Yep too bad they didn't .....

Terminus -> RE: 2006 World Soccer Championships in Germany (6/15/2006 11:58:34 PM)

Another rather uninteresting game just finished. Lots of goals being scored in the dying minutes...

Not a game one should overate, Serbia Montenegro packed their stuff after the 2:0. I would have expected some more fighting spirit of them.

But some really nice goals in that game!

I know, I know... The Serbs folded like a poker player with a pair of threes, but some of the Argentinian playing was absolutely superb!

OK guys, now tell me that Matrix doesn't have a "footy" game under wraps back in the development closet?

If not, you'd better get going... you guys have serious "footy fever" and we know that such things can often be cured by a good computer simulation game. [:D][:D][:D]

Yes indeed, some of their attacks and especially short passes were truly amazing. But still against a defense that was not there. A lot of the argentinian players saied that it was like a training match to them. Anyway. Argentinia is on my list of teams that can win the throphy.

I have this 365 days a year 24/7. It is just a little higher during the big tournaments [;)]. there is no cure other then live football and cold beer against it [:D]

Speedysteve -> RE: 2006 World Soccer Championships in Germany (6/18/2006 1:50:05 AM)

You see Italy tonight? Shocking elbow (by Di Conti was it?)[:-]

Vincenzo_Beretta -> RE: 2006 World Soccer Championships in Germany (6/18/2006 1:55:13 AM)

The elbow was by De Rossi. In the after match, talking about the unavoidable suspension, he "hoped that the blood will not weight in" [:D]

Italy sucked, however - big time.

oi_you_nutter -> RE: 2006 World Soccer Championships in Germany (6/18/2006 3:23:16 AM)

the referee sucked in the Italy USA match

overall there has been too many yellow and red cards awarded in the tournament

ShermanM4 -> RE: 2006 World Soccer Championships in Germany (6/18/2006 4:02:13 AM)

I'm not a soccer fan, but Msn has given us some good reasons here. [:D][X(][:D]

MSN Story

I particularly like the US fan towards the end whose in the '70's retro t and blue shorts. Anyway, I hope you guys get a good laugh out of this.

Neilster -> RE: 2006 World Soccer Championships in Germany (6/18/2006 8:52:38 AM)

Shameless exploitation of beautiful, pert, young women. I had to view those images several times to make sure just how outraged I was. [:'(]

Cheers, Neilster

ah, there is nothing that can suprise me from the Italy. They always played dirty[:-]... and with a help from the God[;)] - well it doesn't suprises me either - the Pope is in the Rome after all[:D]

Now folks, get your fingers crossed, buy some chips and lots of beer - Croatia plays against Japan[sm=00000947.gif]

I have feeling that this will be one tough and not so beatiful match (hehe, i prognosed well a draw between France and Swiss).

Lets say 1-0 for Croats!

I wonder what makes you think that. So far everybody is pretty satiesfied with the referees. I don't think there have been to many cards, a lot of the "dark yellow" fouls I have seen so far have been pretty rough and where completly direct at the players anckle [;)]. That iranian guy yesterday with his kung-fu kick against Figo should get 2 years disqualification.

Even in the US game all calls where right on spot. All the red cards were totally okay and the 2nd US goal was (sadly, sadly) an unarguable offside position.

I hope he gets a 3 games suspension. De Rossi really needs to calm down a bit, it was not his first time [;)]

Yep, Italy sucked and they will even more against the Czechs [:D][;)]

pauk -> RE: 2006 World Soccer Championships in Germany (6/18/2006 11:48:54 PM)

damn, damn, damn... i was so close with my bet... but no, Srna had to miss penalty... [X(]

oh, well i guess Croatia have to win against Australia - this shouldn't be mission impossible since six Aussie players are Croats[:D]

Terminus -> RE: 2006 World Soccer Championships in Germany (6/19/2006 12:01:47 AM)

And the French lost 1 - 1 to the Koreans! Le Bleux are really disintegrating before our eyes...

Except for that red card for the ukrainian defender and the penalty, that was ridicules.

Don't you worry about Viduka and company. They're Australian through and through matey. Just like Aloisi, Brescianno, Grella and "Aussie" Guus Hiddink. [:'(]

The very fact that I'm disappointed with a 2-0 loss to Brazil shows how far Australian football has come. We were crucified by the referee and really should have made more of our chances. 1-1 would have been a better reflection of the game as they got a lucky one in the the last minute.

So it all boils down to the game against Croatia. We have the advantage, in that a draw will be good enough to see us go through but Croatia will be very tough.

Of course it's not a matter of life and death...it's much more important than that. [:'(]

Cheers, Neilster

ok, here is a deal. We are going to let you win in rugby match, but you have to loose in upcoming soccer match against Croatia[:D]

You must be on the drugs mate. [:D]

The all-conquering (well, mostly...there are still a few pockets of resistance that remain to be mopped up [:'(] ) Australian Rugby Union team bashed up world champion England 43-18 on the weekend and that was after a consolation try in the last minute. We gave them a 34-3 shellacking on the 11th and have now won back the Cook Cup.

I'm not familiar with Croatia's form but if it's good, they've been keeping it very quiet. [:'(]

Loose? We might lose..or then again, we might let loose Guus! [&o]

Cheers, Neilster

Stirling Mortlock, busting the line yet again...

har har funny joke....

<Mutters about Bertie Vogts - why couldnt walter smith have taken over earlier !!!>

I still remember 1982 World Cup Finals (I was 10) David Narey for Scotland scored a toe poke form 40 yards to put Scotland 1 - 0 up againt Brazil.... now that really annoyed them final score 4 : 1 ;)[:D][:D]

Yep Australia had quite some bad luck in that game. A tie would have been very fair. But then again if you don't make a goal even if it is undefended against Brasil, then you can't complain [;)]. Kewell really had it on his shoe tip.

Ronaldo substituted again, and bam the game got better. I personally can't understand why the coach does not put Robinho in the starting 11 anyway. He plays so well together with Adriano.

Well, we've only got 20 million and you don't have massive domestic Australian Rules and Rugby League competitions to fill up with athletes. I can tell you a lot of soccer fans here rue the superb talent that goes into those sports. [:D]

As for "borrowing" Croatians. Bah! Their parents couldn't get out of that joint fast enough. [:'(] I do like the look of that Dalmatian coastline and other Croatian scenery though. I might visit before another war inevitably breaks out with your traditionally friendly neighbours. [;)]

Cheers, Neilster
