November 1, 1944 Victory Points and Economic Summary Victory Points: Score Japan 57,032 (Up 573 Points) Allies 78,737 (Up 5,437 Points) Strategic Losses 14,754 (Up 1,780) For the eighth month in a row I GAIN victory points. Considering everything... Allies take Hong Kong, beseige Canton, and advance up the China coast with millions of troops...it is an unstoppable tidal wave. Strategic losses continue to mount and my fighter defense is collapsing due to the Double Fighter Sweeps coming from Tori Shima and Iwo Jima. All month is spent preparing for the invasion of Western India. Operation Furouka-Go is about to commence and it is guaranteed to be FUN! The Fleet and 200,000 troops will attempt to make the end of 1944 one to remember. BANZAI!!! Ships Sunk Japan 1,098—10,630 VP (up 566)—I lost 62 ships during October. Nearly all of these losses come from attempts to move troops or supplies into or from Formosa and China. These were my losses: 29 AK, 2 TK, 8 AP, 4 MSW, 8 PC, 3 AR, CVE Unyo, CL Yura, and 6 DD. Major Japanese Vessels Sunk to Date---CV Junyo, Hiyo, Hiryu, and Katsuragi, BB Fuso, Yamashiro, Mutsu, Nagato, Musashi, and Yamato, BC Kirishima, Haruna, and Kongo, 6 CA , 15 CL, 114 DD, and 48 SS. Allies 1,395---15,389 VP (up 515)---Dan lost a much more respectable 41 ships in October. Exact Losses are: 20 AK, 2 LSM, 3 AP, 3 MSW. BB HOwe, 4 DD, and 8 SS (S-18, Spirella, Sunfish, Supreme, Sablefish, Finback, Spark, and Sawfish) Major Allied Vessels Sunk---CVs Enterprise, Lexington, Hornet, Wasp and Intrepid, CVL Langley, 6 CVE, BBs Colorado, West Virginia, Idaho, Tennessee, Arizona, Prince of Wales, Alabama, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Mississippi, BC Renown, Howe, 15 CA, 10 CL, 107 DD, and 84 SS. Sinking 8 SS in one month is my best total yet. ASW Attacks for October: ASW Task Force: 27 (Up 17) ASW Land-Based Air: 30 (up 7) These are attacks that scored damage on an Allied SS. The fight is fast and furious right now. I sank an average of 1 Allied SS every 4 days and severely damaging another every 3-4 days. Seemingly this makes no difference but they are sinking! Manchukuo Garrison---9,469---UP 728---(8,000 Needed) Political Points---2,831 Units Transferred: Moved an Inf Brigade to Formosa Industrial Report Supply 976,848--Down 3,900 Fuel 1,341,258—Up 54,000 Manpower 736 (1,335,258)—Up 13,000 Heavy Industry 12,434 (356,170)—HI Down 427 and surplus UP 66,000 Resources 10,027 (1,074,454)—Lost 1,110 Resource Centers---Strategic Bombing Oil 1,481 (445,764)—Down 231 Oil Centers Mixed economic bag as normal. Supply stabilized a bit bit is terrible. Very scarce. I’ve got buckets of fuel and not enough oil. Normal story there but I have managed to run more convoys in and bring fuel out to Cebu, Davao, and Soerabaja. Dan’s Strategic Bombing continues handing it to the resources. Don’t have a crisis here yet but trouble is on the horizon (figure 6 months or so). Shipyards Naval 1,179 (2,964) Merchant 981 (2) Repair 1,336 Carriers Ikoma----Completed and racing to join Operation Downfall... 5 DD were completed last month with another 5 DD to be done this month. I have turned off about 75% of shipbuilding and have completely shutdown Merchant building this month. The ASW ships are still rolling off the ways so I’ll keep some of the naval yards running. Weapons Armament 787 (21,654) Vehicles 179 (15,546) Due to Damian's suggestion I have shutdown most these areas to help HI stockpile. Aircraft Engines 2,125 (Down 4) Assembly 1,619+(12-Rd) So-so news here as engines stayed steady but production dropped by 149 for the month. Considering the bombardment this is to be expected. Engine Production Mitsubishi 690(130)—Need 946—260 in Pool Nakajima 1,355(196)—Need 1,080---2,642 in Pool Kawasaki 000---Need 24---67 in Pool Aichi 80---Need 90---288 in Pool Mitsubishi production grew but surplus is dropping. Have nearly all bombers off right now. Increased the Naka pool by 350 over the previous month.
