October 2nd Army The 2nd Army is not even close to the highest standards of the Army, but it is improving. As replacements are arriving with a moral of 4.5, each siege and long march improves the various divisions. With another thousand kilometers of marching they will be ready to fight any army. November Upgrades A major naval upgrade has been added. There are not enough drugs in the whole Empire to cause me to think that the Ottoman Navy can stand against the British Fleet, but it is attaining some good training levels that reduce or eliminate other threats. December. 1810 Glory Supremacy continues to increase. Some minor improvements were completed this month. Adana like has seen the end of its road development. It is one of the provinces that used roads as the building block of total development. That works fine, but it cannot be done everywhere. January, 1811 Glory The glory standings are rather constant these days. This was a good month for the Army and Navy. New barracks and docks were completed. Reaching a level 7 docks in Istanbul (Constantinople[&:]) will also have a significant impact on merchant income. This is sorely needed as improving banks cost so much in this empire that it will take 4 years just to break even-after completion. January Istanbul With the level 7 docks completed here, it is time to turn attention to local fortifications. Level 8 guns have been initiated. As you can see, this little improvement is not cheap. Whatever the cost, this is viewed as a prudent investment for the future. There is still a possibility of a mass of barbarians joining forces to attempt to thwart Ottoman glory-the capital will be prepared. The resources being consumed are of little value for moral under the current circumstances. However, the same consumption does at 6 or 8 points towards glory. January Strategic Map Russian forces are still in Moscow, but are not shown here. The Spanish are not actually in North Africa, but Gibraltar. The Ottoman 1st Army is broken down into corps in an effort to save some money. Great Britain is still at war with Sweden, Spain and Russia. We have just completed the August 1811 turn. This AAR is 6 turns behind now-it will be made current next week. There was one little surprise shift in the action-nothing decisive yet.

March, 1811 Glory The glory standings are holding the same pattern. Austria is gaining on Russia and France is gaining on Sweden. Austria should be moving up soon. The current Ottoman policy calls for a strong Austria-or one that can survive anyway. In the last great war with France, the Ottoman Empire and Russia its manpower was drastically reduced. It still has not recovered. Many of its divisions are still far under strength. Loosing supply in the Russian winter did not help matters. April, 1811 Glory Ottoman glory continues to advance more rapidly than Great Britain's. How will that ever be stopped? Another court is completed. Although there is no 'waste" at this time, the Sultan wishes to avoid that painful situation in the event that the Empire has another growth spurt. April Culture France has moved into the second place in culture. Although it looks to be even, France's culture rating is based on French provinces-it belongs to France. April Economy Trade and merchant income has slightly increased. The level 7 port/docks in Istanbul helped in that situation. Taxes will be further reduced to spur production-primarily of textiles. May Russian Campaign The plan for the 1811 campaign was designed to force the Czar to move out of his bastion in Moscow to defend his Empire. The method to force this was the capture of every major city. The primary target was St Petersburg. If Russian forces did move out of Moscow, then battle/battles would be joined. Ottoman forces would initially move towards Moscow again-then speed march north. Supply was to be maintained from Austrian bases. June, 1811 Glory Standings Positions are the same this month. A healthy number of provincial improvements have been completed. These projects are easier to afford than in the past, but are still very expensive and a burden. However, those must be continued. June Culture Great Britain has jumped into second place with culture gained form its operations in Russia. I have not noted any pillaging by the British, so most of these gains are just temporary-unless the war goes on for another 4 years.
