My brother in law (wifes side) has been kicked out of her parents house for a couple of months (hes like 18 I think)

In and out of jail, drugs, you name it... complete and total punk ass...

Guess who is staying with us for a week?

Sounds like a couple of buddies kids. However they are approaching 30. At least we got it out our system right away.
Seems to be a sense of entitlement out there. As to no matter what they do or want to do, someone is going to take care of them.[8|]
I guess I had that feeling also. Except it was dad and his backhand that was going to take care of me.
Thanks Dad. I miss you.

Early morning tithe.... Was woken by a cat fight (0550), so got up and made a cup of coffee. Now I will watch the sun come up, is the best part of the day I think.

Once I woke up, showered, dressed, and was eating breakfast before I noticed the normal shows were not on TV.  It was 0200.  [:D]

Weather?

Leo "Apollo11"

Hi Leo, things a great thanks.

Been a real different summer so far, has been hot 25C-30C highs. But there has been a lot of high winds (north-westerlies), and cooler than normal at night.

When we fish in Canada, the morning ride in the boats out to the that day's fishing spot, while watching the sun come up, is wonderful.

Schanilec -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/1/2012 6:18:01 PM)

I like getting into postion for hunting on a calm, quiet pre-dawn morning and watch the sunrise and the sunset at the end of a long day of hunting. Then over to the campfire before we head into the local town for the annual chili feed.

And our winter; warmer than usual. Today 37F. Normal 19F. 3" of snow on the ground. Normal around 40". And lovin' it.[8D]

All I was getting at with my wife, was that just because someone has feelings, that isn't an excuse for their wrong/bad/illegal actions.

...and yes, BTK is one sick dude..

Too bad this isn't Texas, or we could fry him... now he rots on my tax dollars...oh justice..

nashvillen -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/1/2012 9:26:56 PM)

That one is good also. Almost any Kahn quote would be in my "like" column. I just graduated from HS that year and watched that movie more times than I could count in college.

Kahn = Klingon? [sm=00000117.gif]

Terminus -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/1/2012 11:07:13 PM)

No... Who said that?

I'm thinking of the other Star Trek film. The one Ricardo Montalban isn't in.

Schanilec -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/1/2012 11:18:11 PM)

This one time...at band camp...[:D]

Terminus -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/1/2012 11:21:20 PM)

Seriously, though... Christopher Plummer calls Shakespeare "the Klingon poet" in Undiscovered Country. He likes "Cry Havock, and Let Slip The Dogs of War!"

Ah, yes. I remember his role (he played it well) in that movie. One of the worst of the Star Trek franchise, IMO-but he was good.

IIRC, he had another Shakespeare line before his ship was destroyed by a retrofitted Enterprise photon torpedo. Don't recall offhand what it was...

Terminus -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (2/2/2012 12:10:04 AM)
