Hi all,

... aaaahh ... not only Friday. The autumn from hell is now ended, and my three weeks holiday starts ... just about now [:)][:'(]

I will have to finish the IT inventory at work first and I will also go for 2+ weeks of vacation...

Mike Solli -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (12/18/2011 12:52:18 PM)

I'm in Mikes's boat. No vacation this year. [:(] What's worse, no access to this web site either. [:(]

Chickenboy -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (12/18/2011 1:39:06 PM)

Overheard in the Chickenboy household at 3:30am:

"Dad, I don't feel so good..."

Overheard in the Chickenboy household at 3:31am (All parents know and loathe this sound, which follows on the heels of the aforementioned announcement...)

"BLAARRRRK"...

It was a long night...

Chickenboy -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (12/18/2011 1:41:03 PM)

Anyways, Good morning tithe...

Mike Solli -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (12/18/2011 1:53:51 PM)

Man, I don't miss that at all. Young children are fun, but when they are older want to go do something and you feel like messing around with AE, all you have to do is give them the car keys. [:D]

It's not all bad though. I get the two Mondays after the holidays off and, since I work four 10 hour shifts, I get Fridays off as well. So, 4 day week this week and 3 day weeks the next 2.

zuluhour -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (12/18/2011 3:13:50 PM)

tithe?

Good guess, Per, and thanks! [:)]

I'm pretty pumped.  It is an amazing company to work for with a fantastic teamwork culture, it's much closer to home, pays more than my previous job at IBM, and I'll have several testers directly reporting to me.  I start the day after the New Year's holiday, on January 3rd.  Great way to begin the new year.  [8D]

I finally found this, Mike. Congrats! That's wonderful news.

Thanks, Mike! [sm=00000436.gif]

Thanks, Leo! Yeah, finally got the official call in the late afternoon on Friday. It's been a good weekend. [8D]

Are you referring to the position out of the country you were offered? Have you accepted it? Mike will you be able to exchange PBEM turns while "working."? You'll need to check in with us via email from time to time. We can pass along your updates here if you like.

Duh, or are you simply working at your local desk without any vacation time available? [:D]

I hear that, Mike. Our "baby" is 13 and we often don't hear him in the night. Sometimes in the morning we are informed that he got sick the night before, but it's already cleaned up. [8D]

I'm still dreading/eagerly awaiting the time when I hand him the car keys. [X(] [8D]

OK, that answers my previous question. [:D]

I'm actually working 4 x 10 the week after Christmas, so I don't lose the pay for a day. [:)]

Boy, that brings back memories. It seems that when I was young I would always catch the flu during Christmas break. I can recall pulling a throw rug into the bathroom so that I could curl up on the floor by the toilet and not have to worry about not making it on time...

jeffk3510 -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (12/18/2011 4:54:30 PM)

I am always sick around the Christmas time for some reason...

Kyle Orton starts today in Romeo Crenell's first game as Head Coach... will be interesting to see how bad the Packers beat us...

I'm saying 45-10... [8|]

Good luck covering the spread there Jeff.

Here's to the boys of cow, men of moo and their victory over the hapless Bucs. Romo looked damn near perfect the first half...[&o]

I haven't heard anything else about the deployment. I was talking about my current job (all of 2 weeks old). Being a federal technician, I get 4 hours of leave every 2 weeks. [8|] And I can't begin to take any for 3 months. It'll be long days waiting to get back home and here. [:D]

Yeah, work has been a female dog, 63 hours overtime since the beginning of of November. Time to slack off for a while me thinks.
