2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/4/2012 6:22:32 PM)

Same here.....I am 2.5 mil in the red and not sure if I will make it into the black before the 1st of the month. This sucks.

Chijohnaok2 -> RE: Status Update (3/4/2012 9:08:47 PM)

My R5 status is really through my inactivity (and a twitchy finger).

Set up my routes thru my smartphone since my web access is limited this weekend. Wanted to order an additional plane so I bought a $5 million bond..... Then accidentally took another $5 million bond. So I leased an extra plane, then set what routes I could find. Maxed out plane usage to 19 hours plus. And since then have done nothing other than occasionally check on it. My cash reserve keeps growing. The bonds will be due in 5 yrs.

Will do some tinkering and expansion when I get home.
Hopefully, by the. No one has raided my handful of routes and my reserves have grown to a point that I can lease more planes withOut taking another bond.

2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/4/2012 10:49:44 PM)

Well, my credit rating sucks so bad in R5 that I cannot lease anything anymore. Stuck with what I have until gets better or I can afford to buy one of the planes. Stuck like chuck. Damn

2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/4/2012 11:47:34 PM)

Okay, Transair has responded and offered to shut down his route. I advised that he can stay on just needs to adjust flight ratio to stabilize prices.

Still no word from XL......So far he has only invaded 1 of my routes heavily, but it is a heavily fought over route. I just want confirmation of his intentions.

2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/5/2012 12:51:09 AM)

Little twerp.......Quandry, need advice.

Etihad Air is trying massively dominate 2 of my routes........now should I take the 35 plane airline to the woodshed or should I PM him and ask if he thinks it is a wise thing to do and does he really want to fight this little war with me.

Neither route is large, one is a 126Y pax and the other a 280Y pax route. So it would not even touch my bottom line. But I just cannot understand what he is thinking. I have left his routes alone for a long time and now he tries to muscle me. One route I matched his prices on.......the other I dropped prices massively on him.......like 1500 under F.......1000 under C and 300 under the economy pax. I am making a whopping 8,000 per day on this 126 pax route.

Mobeer -> RE: Status Update (3/5/2012 1:02:52 AM)

O2:
Ethihad Air Ways just new leased 25 * 747 + 50 * A300 with only 25 planes in service
Decent number of DC9-40 in the pool at young age

2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/5/2012 1:15:21 AM)

Yep, I saw that.......he is using a A300 against me on a route I have a Cl44 flying and I can barely fill that up the route is so few. I sent PM and that is the route my CL44 is only making 8,000 per day I cut the prices so bad on him. No way he is going to make money that way.

So far no response to my PM and I might be able to scrape the cash up to buy enough planes to flood his few routes and make him cry uncle. Would prefer he respond and just avoid my routes. But I doubt he will do so.

2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/5/2012 1:43:21 PM)

Well, things are bleak in R5........Just got warning letter number 5........so if I get forced out, I will relocate and try again. This sucks.

terje439 -> RE: Status Update (3/5/2012 2:06:30 PM)

No warning letters so far for TL-Lines, but we are deep in red. Might have to drop the starting plane to get away from the maintenance cost for it.
Not a good position to be in.

Speedysteve -> RE: Status Update (3/5/2012 3:37:09 PM)

Looks like things are escalating big time with Green Bird from Star alliance.

I've swamped his routes from TFS, MCO and soon to be from LAS. If anyone does have spare planes to go around it would be great if you could jump on his routes as well. He's certainly a 'big I am' type claiming that I shouldn't ask him to back off the routes he invaded of mine as he has a load of other airlines in other worlds.....yawn.......

2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/5/2012 4:01:29 PM)

R5 has shut down.....waiting on a slot to jump back in, found an empty airport with no airlines based there. Was about to get the final warning letter and be doomed anyway.

That's the beauty of it. Declare bankruptcy and just spring up under a new name, in a new location.

2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/5/2012 6:11:48 PM)

Yeah, if a slot would open up. LOL

Chijohnaok2 -> RE: Status Update (3/5/2012 6:25:49 PM)

What happened to Eire in 02?

I do not see him in the standings....

Is he gone? Has anyone taken his routes?

2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/5/2012 6:30:39 PM)

I have not even looked. I know he dropped off page 1.

Looks like he's gone. Could that explain the 4300+ planes in he used plane bin?

2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/5/2012 6:41:05 PM)

That could be it, he was a huge DC9, CL44, TU114 user. I just checked a few of the routes I KNOW we competed on and it almost looks like he traded them off to someone else because there is a different airline on each route and my pax load has not changed and prices are the same. Funny.

terje439 -> RE: Status Update (3/6/2012 12:16:01 AM)

I know Eire has started up in R5 (he set up in England just as me...yeay...), so maybe he decided to focus entirely on that world.

Mobeer -> RE: Status Update (3/6/2012 12:39:05 AM)

O2:
An epic session of placing planes has the full fleet in service. Profits haven't risen much as competition has increased, though a big matrix (TM) of routes in Europe should help. Extra flights add to MCO to rival Green Bird, though MEUS are struggling to find many routes where he isn't already in competition. The MEUS chairman does like the new Green Bird livery though; just had to check out the screenshot, where Speedy is immortalised (for now).

Edit: Cricket Airlines in $665m debt!

S1:
Alaska is proving small. Though off to a good start, MEUS are having to stretch into the lower states already. The airline has a decent number of orders, though little cash.

R5:
MEUS flights are scattered about the states with little ryhme or reason. All MEUS flights are at capacity, though someone is bound to get annoyed soon by the odd route map in use. As S1, little cash but planes are on order.

Chijohnaok2 -> RE: Status Update (3/6/2012 12:59:38 AM)

I see that Cricket is ranked 232........out of 233......

[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Phatguy -> RE: Status Update (3/6/2012 4:47:22 AM)

Not having luck in R5. Beginning and middle of the month always find me in the hole with both my lines.

2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/6/2012 9:13:43 AM)

Okay, Minnisota Air has start operations from MSP.........Since I dumped the last airline and such, and I cannot join the Matrix Boys, everyone leave the original Matrix Boys, and we will start the Matrix Boys II

terje439 -> RE: Status Update (3/6/2012 12:17:37 PM)

R5 Newsflash
TL-Lines try to borrow themselves out of red numbers.
When asked about this strange move, the CEO of TL-Lines claimed that raising 20.000.000$ worth of bonds was the only option, as this allowed the company to end the lease on one of their AC, and instead lease a new 737. When asked to do the math, we recieved the following numbers;

20M $ bonds = 200k per month
Maintenace cost for the terminated AC = 2.9M per month
Leasing for terminated AC = 888k per month
Cancellation of gate leases = 350k per month
DoP on terminated AC = 105k = 3.15M per month

Which gave the following number for the terminated AC (3.15M - 2.9M - 888k) = -673k/month

Your CEO needs to be the head of a bank.

Chijohnaok2 -> RE: Status Update (3/6/2012 4:54:08 PM)

I also took out 3 or 4 $5 million bonds in R5. Ordered some additional 767 extended range models. Didn't want to continue ordering one by one as cash allows.

Need to get those planes, establish the routes and boost that cash flow.

Also, been having issues accessing he AE website with my smartphone. Got here @ Matrix with no issues.

Is their server slow or down? I had just received delivery of a 747-200C and wanted to place it.

Phatguy -> RE: Status Update (3/6/2012 6:09:42 PM)

very slow over there as I write this

Mobeer -> RE: Status Update (3/7/2012 12:13:29 AM)

S1: 26 Planes in service, 41 on order. MEUS have 3 different maintenance types, but this will increase to 7. MEUS valuation is bouncing up and down like crazy as money is spent on new leases. The airline valuation really needs to account for earnings as well as assets.

R2: 32 planes in service, 47 on order. Again lots of types, which I have to have in order to get regular deliveries. Still a member of the original Alliance for now, though this can change.

O2: Noticed a barely flown Tu-144 in the used pool. The slight smell of garlic was a bit too much though. Have to wonder if it was ever allowed to go supersonic at all. Most of the other used pool planes are aging a bit which I like. Added flights to Reno in competition to Green Bird. Cricket Australia and Ethiad Airways are in trouble.

Sent FlyAir, apparently a new and in debt airline, a notice:
Noticed that you have a lot of different plane types. You might know already, but the maintenance cost is very high per type, then lower per additional plane.

Air France 7th, Buffalo Air 8th - looks like a race up the charts is on?

I need to leave this world alone a little while to concentrate on the start ups.

Speedysteve -> RE: Status Update (3/7/2012 7:07:32 AM)

Speedy Air is no more. As much as I really enjoyed the game it's just too darn time consuming once your airline gets big. Checking and tweaking over 1300 routes twice a day took it's toll. All the best to the European Alliance!

2ndACR -> RE: Status Update (3/7/2012 10:26:01 AM)

I wish you had left it alive. We could have placed it under another players control to maintain market share. At least until we had all moved in and got on all your routes.

But I understand. Green Bird is going to be gloating until he sees that I jumped on a bunch of those routes against him.

Speedysteve -> RE: Status Update (3/7/2012 10:35:39 AM)

Sorry 2nd ACR. Just not enough time to dedicate to it and boy does it take time to play! Even less time available for me now as WitW testing ramps up.....
