This game frustrates me so much, but I actually enjoy and get lost in the day to day running of Japan. In my opinion, it's the toughest side to play and there's just no margin for error, talk about pressure.

I'm beginning to see what you mean. I too enjoy the running of the Jap economy and it's kinda fun to watch it grow, shrink, change etc.

My hat's off to you for playing a mod that's even tougher on the dark side.

If I had known then what I know now I'd probably be playing the Allied side.

Well thank you to both of you. I'm having a blast w/ this game and I hope I can convey my enjoyment w/ it through what I post and so on.
It's exciting to watch Jim ship something to Ndeni and I get to sink it. Over and over. He's learning however, this last convoy had a DD
in it. I guess his surface forces can't be everywhere. I'm beginning to see more and more Allied ships and his P-38's are decimating
my Zero's at Buna and I'm watching him slowly taking over the air supremacy in that area. I'm learning what the RL Japs had to contend
with etc.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/30/2013 11:02:35 PM)

Here's the largest convoy I have. It's 27 ships headed for Hakodate for some resources. Then they are going to Hirosaki to unload.
The trip should take about a week from port to port, load and unload.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/30/2013 11:30:56 PM)

Here's how it looks in Tokyo now. My lack of 88K of resources has caused some industry(s) to fail there. I've turned on the stockpiling
and I've got convoys headed this way w/ resources so this crisis should end in a good way shorty. Which is a good thing because I can
really use the HI and the supplies.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/30/2013 11:55:41 PM)

Here's what the Tokyo traffic looks like so far. I have three outbound convoys loading up and about three or four convoys of
resources and oil etc. Pretty quiet compared to just a week ago. I wonder what all the AK's are hauling now. I'll get back to you on that.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 12:06:30 AM)

Here's the loads being carried by the AK's and as you can see we're mostly handling resources and supplies. This list was sorted in a
descending order and about half of the AK's were empy.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 12:16:25 AM)

Here's where most of the fuel and oil is being handled. As you can see there's a lot of oil already being unloaded at Kagoshima and
there's a lot of fuel going various places.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 2:46:46 AM)

I threw together a TF just now that will take all the empty transports I had on hand at Kagoshima and they are to sail to Shikuka for some
of those resources. Shikuka doesn't have a Resource Center there so once the resources are gone they are pretty much gone.
Except for those resources that come from someplace else to Shikuka given an appropriate passage of time. The reason for that
particular port is because (1) the traffic around Hakodate is pretty heavy and there's lots of ships already docked there and more yet
would create a bottleneck. (2) their capacity ( about 55K ) is substantially more than can be obtained at any of the smaller ports around
Hakodate and (3) the TF commander is being reassigned to a combat zone after this trip and he wanted it to be a long one for
"sentimental" reasons.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 3:12:59 AM)

Um........here's the situation near Buna. [ EDIT: over the past couple of days ....] I've lost about 4 or 5 AK's to the P-38's at Port
Moresby and I'm hoping it's because they had only PB's as escorts and that the assignment of two DD's as escort instead might better
protect the ships headed to Buna. Buna really really needs the supplies ( to keep the Zero's flying for one thing ) and this trip is the third
to Buna this week alone. We're going to find out if 2 DD's will make any difference at all. I may have to get my entire surface group over
here to escort some transports to Buna. D'oh. Maybe I should call on a couple of carriers w/ Zero's aboard to pay a visit to this area.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 3:19:41 AM)

TF 80 is three of the shorter-range tankers. They would be good for close-in ports of call. I'm going to send them to Shikuka for some
oil. They are to load it up and take it to Tokyo. Rinse and repeat. A dedicated route for them.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 3:33:02 AM)

Here's the situation at Hakodate: I have TF 5 which is 10 ships NOT DOCKED loading resources and a TF 155 which is 19 ships that
are DOCKED loading resources and a 14- ship TF leaving Hakodate for Hirosaki. All of which should mean that at least one TF is
loading at Hakodate while, hopefully at least one TF will be unloading at Hirosaki and that leaves 1 TF that might be intransit still etc.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 3:49:40 AM)

Here's the situation at Tobali: I'm hoping to get about 18K of the 23K resources that are piled up there next to the dock. I managed
to dock the three largest ships so maybe they will finish loading about the time the smaller and un-docked ships finish their load. I can
dream. Any way, this will be the last trip out of Tobali for about a month while the level builds up again. It just occurs to me that I don't
remember what the limit is for the storage of resources in this terrain type. I guess we'll find out somehow. Sooner or later.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 4:14:03 AM)

Kagoshima was down to its last 2 tons of oil before this convoy showed up. Here's about 54K to replace those 2 you have, because at
least 2 are going to be spilled getting it into the bunker.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 4:35:14 AM)

Remember that fuel crisis that I had about a week ago in the hub big boys Bubble Drop and Truk? Well, it looks like the worst of it is
overwith because Truk has about 85K of fuel and Bubble Drop has about twice that much and there's more in the pipeline. Now to get
that fuel down to Tulagi and Tarawa and places like that.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 4:44:51 AM)

I was just thinking about diverting TF 126 to Kwajalien and I noticed that Roi-namur has run itself out of everything and there's some
flyboys there who haven't received their mail in a week and a half and the hot water is on the fritz again.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/EC9A007831C64FC6A9EAB5E0D124E2B8.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 4:51:18 AM)

I just now found a TF that has run itself out of fuel and Kwaj doesn't have any either. So those three transports will sit out the war for a
little bit longer. I'll see if I can scrounge up one more TF that can be diverted to bring Kwaj some fuel.

EDIT: It just occurs to me that the fuel shortage I had at the hubs is being felt out in the outlayers in that everybody past the hubs is
coming up w/o any fuel. The crisis has just moved to the outlayers instead of being isolated at the hubs.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 5:05:35 AM)

Palembang is down to it's last 42K or so of resources and there's three TF's there loading them so I thought I'd send the 4th TF ( 161 )
on to Christmas Island IO which has over 100K resources at last peek. It seems like I last Peaked at Christmas Island IO was about a
week ago so there's lots more resources there now.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/3F2E7128190040E3AA081AAD18155BD7.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 5:13:13 AM)

That previous post about guessing about the resource levels at Christmas Island IO got me curious so I just had to peek again and
here's what I found. over 220K resources and while I'm looking at this part of the world it just occurs to me that the CoCos Islands
are nearby and there's a Resource Center there worth 11(0) and I've not invaded anywhere for awhile. Note to self: study the Cocos
some more. Maybe plan something for late August.

Anybody else ever have the game engine present you w/ a blank instead of the picture of the plane? How do I fix that anyway?

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 5:48:10 AM)

TF 250 is going to take about 2/3 of the resources at Kendari and then a different convoy will come by and pick up the rest and then the
resources at Kendari are no more. Unless they flow overland from someplace else to replace those that were there. Or something.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 5:56:06 AM)

I finally found a fuel TF that's unloading that can be diverted to Wake Island to fuel up everybody there. And there's a group of ships
there in that area that can use the fuel. The problem is that the TF won't get there for the better part of two weeks.

EDIT: I can't remember whether or not I've already dispatched someone to fuel up Wake and the TF list shows nothing headed to Wake
yet but I know one is going there, I just now assigned it. It says Kagoshima still......??? So anyway, I'm going to get this TF started
moving toward Wake and if there IS another one already headed that way, I'll divert this one to Kwaj or somewhere. No worries.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 6:17:26 AM)

Hey you guys: Here's a mystery. None of the bombers at Keopang are ready to fly. They are all stood down, but even then there
should be planes ready to fly would you think so? Lots of supply, a good V number at the field........... hummmmmmmm?

EDIT: It just occurs to me that the runway damage and the service damage numbers are high. Maybe that's it.

Jim has evidently laid some mines at Wake and I found out the hard way.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 11:32:44 AM)

Here's the latest Tracker economic diagnosis. I'm finally getting a handle on the resources problem even though Tokyo's HI is failing
again. And the first of the oil is being delilvered to the home islands. Maybe I can turn things around pretty soon.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/840A8FE6B12F43BF9C60648DCE7200C8.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 12:22:15 PM)

There's a tiny crisis going on behind the scenes: Tokyo is OUT of resources according to the HI industry; it's failed again today. So I'm
scrapping together all the transports that have at least a handful of resources and I'm sending them to Tokyo. They won't show up for
at least a week and that's a week too long. So until more can show up I'll have to rely on the convoys outbound from Hakodate for the
resources Tokyo needs.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/AE857489F950462196D3AAC5C02427A6.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 12:38:10 PM)

That previous post made me curious to find out how Tokyo really fares now and here's what I found: a crisis ongoing. There's a massive
lack of resources at Tokyo and that which is inbound isn't nearly enough so the HI industry there is going to crater and the war will be
over at least six months earlier.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/044A38CD40344A8BBA4B1EAA27F66F86.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 12:47:16 PM)

I thought to look at the docks at Hakodate to see if there was a convoy unloading resources that I could divert and YES there was one.
So I'll get them started to Tokyo and see if I can't prod the pipeline to accellerate whatever resources that have been harvested in their
move to the home islands. However fast they are moving it's not nearly fast enough. Whatever I can get delivered in the next 2 weeks
is just delaying the final crash.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/29B9C1650862440D97B6830DEE130165.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (7/31/2013 1:07:00 PM)

Here's an example of the problem I face: TF's loading resources beginning now will take probably four days or so
and then there's another 9 days or so in transit time so we're looking at the better part of two weeks before any of
Bubble Drop's resources will arrive in the home islands. The resources problem will have to be solved by closer
ports than Bubble Drop.

EDIT: I'm pretty adapt at finding the obvious things....it's the mearly difficult I find troublesome.
