Hi larry,

You're getting lots of good advice now and things seem to be improving so I'll add just one more thing before going back to just observing things. The Home Islands need about 100k of resources daily so the fact that Tokyo is chronically short of resources tells me you are still not getting enough resources to Japan in the numbers you need. I understand why you are shipping directly to Tokyo, but you don't need to. Once you get over 100k getting into Japan daily the resources will flow to Tokyo and other high HI production centres automatically.

One other option in the short term is turn off some LI in the Home Islands. You're swimming in supply in Japan so you could reduce some LI to conserve resources for the HI. I wouldn't do this though as it doesn't solve the main issue, that being not enough resources getting to the Home Islands.

Once you get your merchant fleet better organized you'll see a huge difference. Things are improving though so good job getting things turned around.

100K resources is a lot but Hokodate ( sp? ) is close and Fusan is close........maybe I can pull that off. I'd rather not ship directly to
Tokyo if I don't have to. All your verbage sounds good. Thanks. You really think things are improving? Sounds great.

I think maybe I can do both things.......turn down the LI to save resources, and ship more resources to the Home Islands. Got it.

That's one of the problems......I'm unorganized at the moment. My TF's are a hodge podge of ships, those available at the time the TF
leaves port. I'm going to have to get faster escorts so my TF's sail faster. I'd hate to try it w/o escorts.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/7/2013 2:12:08 AM)

I can't for the life of me figure out how to turn down the LI in Tokyo. There doesn't seem to be a way to turn the LI production off.

That would/should be the place to do it. Vaguely remember something in a patch where is was debated about no longer allowing LI to be turned off... Hmm?

Ack, I totally forgot about this and should have known better. You can't turn off the LI anymore. It's simulates the need to keep the consumer economy still going. Sorry about that!

So the solution is more resources to the Home Islands...get on it! [:D]

Here's all the convoys headed for Tokyo: By my count that's about 300K+ of resources and should be good for about three weeks of
production when it all gets unloaded. But I've got convoys headed for Cam Rahn Bay and Ocean Island and Nauru Island etc. to load
some more resources. So I'm thinking I might have the resources problem in hand maybe.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/7/2013 6:55:59 AM)

Kagoshima is on the other end of the Home Islands from Tokyo but it's another of the busy hubs I have and here's the convoys headed
to Kogoshima. Goodies that I can surely use. I'll get this stuff unloaded and headed out for more ASAP.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/9/2013 6:02:24 AM)

I discovered something significant to my game just now and thought I ought to post something. I was looking for those ports that need
supplies and or fuel and sorted the list on "port" and found the position of the slider to be proportional to the number of ports in an
ascending order. And that about 60% of my ports are '0' or '1' and that 40% of my ports are '2' or higher. And that I only have about
three '10' level ports. I think this is good to know.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/9/2013 6:10:09 AM)

As you may recall, there was a conversation about turning off the LI at Tokyo to save resources and we found that there was a patch
that turned off that ability and there was not a way to turn it off. So here today Tokyo LI industry failed again and I still have a handful
of resources left over. It's not enough to drive the HI industry tomorrow though, so I expect the HI to fail tomorrow as well. D'oh. I'm
wondering if I ought to deliever all the resources to the home islands to Tokyo because I can't wait for the resources I unload somewhere
else to wander over to Tokyo. I need them there NOW. So I guess I'll start delievering them directly to Tokyo until Tokyo has a
respectable level of resources and there IS enough time for the non-Tokyo resources to wander.

I've received some moves from Jim and I've watched the combat replay etc. and immediately saved the game and copied the saved
game file to the Tracker folder and started up Tracker. Here's some new Alerts:

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/10/2013 9:35:33 PM)

Okay, here's what's going on at Mersing: Jim has sailed a surface group into Mersing and has performed two bombardment missions
so far and I'm expecting some more tomorrow, unless he's already expended his munitions and I've got a small surface group at
Singkawang that I can sortie but it's no match for his fleet. He's got at least 1 BB in that group and I'm not sure I want to send my little
group up against that. On the other hand they have probably already expended his munitions and is vulnerable to a strike now.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/12/2013 3:05:06 PM)

Here's the latest economic chart. Yokohoma's LI industry is failing again today.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/12/2013 3:11:45 PM)

Somehow I lost track of how many supplies there were at Mersing and I ran them completely out. All the planes there at the airfield at
Mersing are all grounded for maint.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/12/2013 6:18:48 PM)

Yokohoma failed it's LI industry today for lack of resources........fortunately I have TF 11 bringing about 52K of resources and they will be
there in a couple of days. So that problem will have a solution shortly.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/12/2013 6:52:48 PM)

You may remember that about four days ago Wake was out of goodies, both fuel and supplies but TF 257 brought some of both and
now Wake is happy again. I'm not sure what level is good for fuel and supplies but they are both in the thousands so we're good for
about a week I figure. I've got to get a resupply TF going to Wake now because it may take a week for a resupply TF to get there.

I don't know what that Allied TF is doing in my Wake harbour and I don't know why we don't tangle shipwise. Mine is an ASW mission,
that might be why we haven't shot at each other yet. I'm sending TF 256 to Truk for more supplies.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/12/2013 7:25:36 PM)

TF 460 is one of my carrier groups and some of the ships are hurting for fuel and just at this moment Kwajalene is out of gas. D'oh.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/17/2013 10:02:51 PM)

Here's finally some significant combat to report. I've sunk some Allied ships but I've damaged several of mine. I can't disband them at
Mersing because of the port damage and so I'm going to have to use the port of Saigon or Singkawang for damage repair and the use
of some AKE's.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/19/2013 8:05:19 AM)

I've been experimenting w/ CS convoys lately and these are the CS convoys I have set up so far. They seem to be working just fine and
I even get news strings about what they are individually doing. I need to do some more.

Here's some of the traffic at some of the major hubs around the globe: I really had to squeeze this picture to get it to fit.

Okay, new day new Tracker chart: Yokohoma is failing for resources again. HI and LI this time both failing.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/20/2013 1:36:18 AM)

I've formed a sort of TF w/ all the damaged ships from the recent raids on Mersing and I'm sailing them to Saigon to get fixed. Some of
them may not make the trip. I wouldn't sail AK's into Mersing except that they need the supplies very badly.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/20/2013 10:42:49 AM)

I just found out just now that Truk is down to it's last 13K supplies. I have a convoy that was going to carry some supplies for Kwajaliene
and I hesitate to draw them from Truk. I'm going to have to go to BubbleDrop for some more supplies. I have a convoy of supplies
already leaving Tokyo this morning for Truk and it's going to take about 8 days for it to arrive at Truk. Maybe I've averted a crisis in the
bud.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/22/2013 12:24:16 AM)

I've got a TF at Fusan that needs loading and I was thinking of making another CS convoy for resources but I've noticed that Fusan is
particularly low on resources so I'm going to divert this TF to the Hakkido run instead.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/22/2013 12:32:00 AM)

I have two AO's at Tokyo that are empty and need to be filled w/ fuel but their total capacity is about 22K and there's only about 57K at
Tokyo and I'm going to need that for fueling the traffic in and out of Tokyo so it looks like there is another fuel crisis just about to rear
it's ugly head.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/22/2013 12:38:19 AM)

This is me turning up the refineries at Tokyo to 20 more so now it's 410(20) and the fuel output should go up slightly.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Fulkerson vs Moore (8/22/2013 12:44:23 AM)

I just now discovered that Port Arthur is running out of Oil. It's got a refinery but no oil center there and so tomorrow I expect Port
Arthur to fail for lack of oil.
