Here's the T50 front lines. It's mostly units pressing north and mop up going on in the rear. The rail is progressing from Rome headed
east and things are going well. The Air Force is helping immeasurably. Is that a word?

Here's some of my losses so far:

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/25/2014 6:35:21 AM)

I did these two theater options just to see what they do. You know, to see if they work.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/25/2014 7:27:02 AM)

Here's the front lines in T51: More of the same really.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/25/2014 1:54:05 PM)

T53 front lines. I'm pounding the targets from the air to soften them up and save some lives. Pressing north on the West side and
on the East side, the supply level is still too low to make much progress but the rail lines are progressing and soon the advance will
be on the go.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/999674E81363412B8DA13460701FDC34.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/25/2014 3:48:02 PM)

T55 front lines. The East side is running into areas of very low supply and they are going to have to pull over and wait for the MP's
leading a convoy of supply trucks. On the West side we've advanced into areas of very low supply and so on and so on. Logistics is the
biggest bottleneck in this scenario. Progress is being made in the middle of the map too and hexes are being converted and we're
making connections between the east and west slowly.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/25/2014 4:57:46 PM)

T56 front lines. Most of the mop up is completed and most of the units on the West side are lined up along the coast road in the max
supply area for that part of the AO. Another way to say it would be they are parked along the road because that's where the supply
level is highest not necessarily high enough. The most available. On the East side the supply rail is getting closer and the supply level
is rising and it's time to move some units over there so they can press north some more.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/25/2014 5:17:36 PM)

Here's how I've been conducting aerial missions here lately. It seems to be working well. I don't get very many INT interruptions and I'm
shooting down enemy planes that have the audacity to try to interfere w/ my attacks.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/638D72AF050F48A493CEA1392DD254E8.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/25/2014 11:57:44 PM)

T57 front lines. Everybody is pressing north and the rail is getting closer to the action.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/8E988016175842F8852F5B9A52006E93.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 12:58:20 AM)

T59 front lines. The supply rail has reached the East coast and has turned north. Now to switch the engineers to the West coast and
see if there's a rail somewhere headed NE and into the middle somewhere.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/495AD33F363E4C24ADD299DA1B626E0A.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 2:34:39 AM)

T61 front lines. I've gotten ahold of a situation where I'm pounding three Axis squadrons w/ 2 of my HQ units. Easy way to rid myself
of some Axis planes.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/535B9649465F4A7EACD5F3D00D6E0F40.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 3:06:38 AM)

I've reached the Arno river and I was moving a unit to cut off supply to some Axis aircraft and I moved adjacent to a German stack.
D'oh. And my unit isn't ready to fight. I'm going to need a lot of CS to protect him and it wouldn't hurt to bombard the German stack
from the air. I'm going to have to switch the RR engineers to the West coast because the Allies are going to need some supply near
the Arno river pretty soon. And the East coast is moving again so it's time to switch the RR engineers.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 4:37:31 AM)

T63 front lines. The East side is moving north rapidly and they are spilling out to the west to clear their flanks. The West side has
ground to a halt for lack of supply. I've switched the RR engineers to the West coast so there should be some progress shortly.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/C3FA8A1F188B455787EBEDB1C72C40FE.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 5:13:09 AM)

Here's the East Coast now. There's an awful lot of uncleared hexes to the west of that moving column. I'm thinking some of them should
peel off and clear to the west. Just in cast there's any indians lurking in there.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/421FEF6B9B2F405B91B5A19B96BF9B0F.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 10:22:27 AM)

I'm inching closer and closer to the Gothic Line on the East side. And I'm at the Arno River on the West side. Now to catch up the
middle a little bit.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/C0A49DEAFD744F31B08B4D971F3552F1.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 10:44:52 AM)

T65 front lines. You can see the units lined up on the road / rail leading north on both sides of the peninsula. They are resting up and
saving up supply to be ready to move again when they save up enough supply and readiness.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/61BCF1AC095949A295B557FDA4814949.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 12:15:56 PM)

Here's the West Coast now. I'm running into a lot of these rearguards and I'm surrounding them and running them out of supply before
I destroy them because if they respawn then they will be out of supply from the start.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 12:53:58 PM)

T67 front lines. I'm running into more and more German units on the East side. Gustav Line occupants I'm guessing.

Zovs -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 2:34:37 PM)

Larry,

I am also "play-testing' this solo, as the Allies, I am only on turn 10 (7/19/43) though and still fighting it out in Sicily.

My status to date are:

Still two hexes short of Arrigento, have captured Caltanissetta, Enna, Gerbini and Adrano and have isolated Catania

By the way in the advanced game options what is the SitRep on/off button used for (been 10 years since I played this game, and just reinstalled and updated last year).

How do you like it so far? Pretty snazzy huh? This is one of the more fun-er scenarios. What's fun is to cut off the supply to
your enemy and watch them disappear when you attack them.

Pictures, we want to see pictures. In fact why don't you do an AAR so I can follow your progress.

Um.........when your opponent attacks you on his turn ( or when the AI attacks you on it's turn ) your opponent gets to see the
combat results but you don't. That seemed unfair to Ralph so he added what are called SitRep logs to the output of TOAW when
the SitRep button is turned on. You can use these records in a spreadsheet program to see what the losses were. As it happens
*I* wrote a small C++ program to read the CSV files ( from the SitRep output ) and output an HTML file that represents the
combat results as we see them in the game. This HTML file can have animation in it or sound effects or whatever a web page has.
It's relatively simple right now but I was thinking about maybe dressing it up and releasing a new version. Talk me into it.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 6:12:10 PM)

This is typical of the output from my program. Simple and easy on the eyes. You can change the color of the background or the text
both to make it look like what you want it to look like. I like white on blue Or you can do black on white. Etc.

I can make this program available to those of you who want to use it to see the combat results of your opponent.

EDIT: I took a look around and found the original zip file that represents "Project 1" and you can download it from here:

Very cool!

I am not sure how to take advantage of the screen shots and there is no way I could match your excellent screen shot work.

Perhaps I can take some screen shots of various turns (I just thrashed the saves for 1, 6, 8 and 10) an currently on turn 12.

I love what you did with this because I love the battalion feel (same with CFNA by Bob Cross).

I used to have the old Dan Mcbride DNO that had German Regiments IIRC, but I can't find it anymore, can you say Russia on the battalion level? That would be way cool. (Thinking like the board war games from MMP/The Gamers OCS series Case Blue and GB II).

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 6:56:30 PM)

OK. TOAW spit out a SitRep log for me for the Sicily scenario specifically and this is a report on the losses that happened during the
enemy turn. Just truncate off the dot text and unzip the file. The HTML file needs to be able to read the images from the images
directory so they need to live in the same folder. What happens if the HTML file can't find it's images is no equipment pictures in the
output. That's all. These are from Turn 68 as I recall.

I'm using the Print Screen button to grab the shot and then I process the screen shot w/ MSPaint and save it as a file. That
way I can upload the file to the forum.

Steve Sill has a winner here I believe. This is a good one.

I took a look around my WWII East Front Scenario's folder and couldn't find DNO but I distinctly remember playing it years ago.
Another good one.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 7:23:21 PM)

T69 front lines. I've shifted everybody on the West side toward the middle and on the East side we're clearing hexes to the west. I'm
soon going to uncover all the Germans on the Gothic Lilne and can start the serious fighting.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/7FBB86B16D4642979DA59885A55AE684.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 7:44:50 PM)

Here's the East side now. I've found a small hole and I'm trying to shove my way through it. As soon as I have all the German units
surrounded I can start their take down. Pounding them from the air and maybe an arty strike or two to soften them up and then do some
direct assaults.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/C66F923DC10545E38DDE44CD5442DE37.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/26/2014 7:48:53 PM)

Here's the West side now. Almost everybody is tending toward the east ( to the right edge ). I'm running into these rearguards and
taking a couple of turns to take them down is slowing progress. Well, actually, it's the low supply situation that's slowing down progress.

[image]local://upfiles/16287/DF2AEF42DDD94EC6975F9E620C82FD4E.gif[/image]

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/27/2014 12:48:09 AM)

Here's the East side now. I've gotten several units through that hole and have surrounded several German units and I'm pounding them
from the air to save the arty supply for attacks. Other units are spreading out heading west and I'm running into enemy units on the
Gothic Line. I'll start looking for a weak spot to allow easy passage. That usually doesn't mean the middle. Middle means low supply
and mountains and or bad terrain for combat. So I'm going to see about a hole someplace close to the Coast roads. And if I can't find
one then I'll try to make one.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/27/2014 1:33:35 AM)

T71 front lines. Everybody is pressing north and toward the middle. Supply rails are getting longer. Progress is being made.

larryfulkerson -> RE: Sicily to Brenner Pass Revised (1/27/2014 10:47:20 AM)

Here's the East side now. I've made the hole bigger and I'm shoving units through it to the green fields beyond. I'm developing the
battlefield and I hope to be able to surround more units and roll up the German lines.
