There are a lot of differences between Close Combat games are they not really in the same engine at all. They're more like sequels in terms of coding & content changes so bringing them up to the latest engine is a huge task, so is just not possible unfortunately.

Prepin57 -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (11/4/2016 4:27:19 PM)

Gary Grigsby's War in the East will not update in Windows 10. Get a error on two files then will not launch. Not noted above.

zakblood -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (11/4/2016 4:29:27 PM)

either a permissions issue or a anti virus one, post in tech support and we can take a look for you to solve it / or help you more with your problem

JosephM -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (11/8/2016 5:31:28 PM)

Hello Prepin,

Yes, as Zakblood says the issue is unlikely to be a Windows 10 issue. Usually internet security is the most common cause of issues with downloading the updates. Provided you've registered the game to your account you can also download the patch from the Member's Area. Alternatively if you email support[a]matrixgames.com then we can send you a manual link from another server.

Anyone knows the game about the war of Napoleon or Colonial War?

Aurelian -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (11/22/2016 4:25:01 AM)

WON works with it.

milkweg -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (12/22/2016 5:12:32 AM)

Thanks, but I found my own fix for HTTR just today. Forgot I had this DXWnd utility to fix a couple of other older games but remembered about it today. Tried it with HTTR and am now good to go. Made a post about it for others in the HTTR forum.

shunwick -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (1/12/2017 4:45:27 PM)

Chariots of War runs fine on Windows 10. I am running CoW v1.15 and Windows 10 upgraded from Windows 8.

riflebrigade -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (1/29/2017 6:01:51 AM)

Has anyone run games with Windows 10 Pro using Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 with Windows 10 Pro's Hyper-V program?

If so would this be a better option than running games directly through Windows 10?

zakblood -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (1/29/2017 6:05:55 AM)

it's an option, but also depends on how well you know windows and also if you like VM ware, myself it's ok for testing stuff, but that's about it, not for general use in my book anyway, with this being a better option, but not out as yet

http://www.theverge.com/2017/1/27/14418074/windows-10-game-mode-now-available-insiders-preview-program

windows 10 in testing atm has a gaming mode, much more suitable for gaming in, more stable, less resources used, and a lot more options for every day use by none techy gamers

Thanks for the info zak! [:)]

zakblood -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (1/29/2017 11:28:15 AM)

i'm testing it atm, and have been for a while now, it's going to hopefully get released in March or April to everyone else, unless you wish to test the now beta branch release, i've been on the alpha before that, and it's improved a lot since then wings7.

riflebrigade -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (2/6/2017 6:29:51 AM)

Thanks for the advice zakblood.

I was considering either using Windows 8.1 with an internet connection or Windows 10 Pro without an internet connection owing to Microsoft being able to have access to data and information on my computer and have the ability to load unwanted programs to my computer without my approval.

If using Windows 10 I would use a MacBook Pro to access the internet to download game updates and then transfer them to my Windows computer.

I do not purchase steam games.

The only problem may be if I use Windows 10 without an internet connection I may have continuous Windows 10 messages requesting a connection to the internet for Windows 10 downloads when trying to play games.

zakblood -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (2/6/2017 8:05:01 AM)

windows 10 tbh has no more spying than any other, including Mac OS X 10.6, same as all versions of windows, it includes what it always has, back doors for stuff to go back to base, same as every operating system that's ever come out, it's just now days they are more open about it and what goes back, it's nothing to worry about, and nothing compared to the amount of stuff you loose when using mail or searching the net etc with most browsers even, only way to be totally safe is don't use any form of electronics at all and go back to the stone age, then no one will know you or where you are or what your doing for that matter, smart phones, smart watches, are all watching and recording something you may not like, same as most cars now days, so the list goes on[;)]

infergnome -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (3/4/2017 5:29:59 AM)

It seems most of the games are working well on Windows 10 now with the latest updates. If you just forgot the login password of your computer, you can reset it with UUkeys Windows Password Mate.

always nice to hear, let's hope in future builds of windows 10, it stays the same [;)]

None that I've heard of.

Alan Sharif -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (6/19/2017 4:37:55 PM)

I am playing Unity of Command and it's DLC's without any issues on Windows 10.

Steel Panthers - best tactical wargame EVER! Been playing the various versions ever since it's first release.

But my PC died. My new one came with Win-10. I re-installed SPWW2 and MBT, but they won't work anymore.

I no longer have a copy of SP-WaW, but I'd re-purchase in a second, if I thought it would work.

zakblood -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (8/12/2017 6:55:14 AM)

you need to install the pre requites that came with the game, so far very few games don't work with windows 10, i'd hazard a guess at less than 1%, so if it runs in windows 7 and 8, it will be fine in 10, if it's before that, then most of the time it still will in one mode or another, once all the pre requites and a odd tweak in settings are done

rico21 -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (8/12/2017 7:27:05 AM)

Markk786 -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (8/14/2017 3:17:53 AM)

Due to expansion in cross platforms compatibility issues are on surge!

zakblood -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (8/14/2017 4:26:53 AM)

nope[;)]

zakblood -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (9/5/2017 7:21:13 AM)

windows 10 doesn't have at start all the bits and pieces that lets say 7,8 and 8.1 has, so lets add them

first

zakblood -> RE: Windows 10 Compatibility List (9/5/2017 7:24:26 AM)

then add the pre requite that either comes with the gamer in question,

Download DirectX 9.0c End-User Runtime etc, as windows 10 comes with version 12, not previous versions

[image]local://upfiles/43185/4D462AAC8B504DD4BB2319BE245C2ACD.jpg[/image]

update your video card drivers, your sound and anything else you have as windows may find it, but your motherboard maker will have the links to the latest for your make and model.

as you can see, my default load up, is quite large with backwards compatible files, i download the latest ISO from M/S and then slipstream what ever i need into the image, then do a clean install of windows, this way, all my test pc's and gaming rigs are up to date and clean, just add my data drive with steam and games installed, and i'm good to go.

a clean install is always better than an upgraded version, as your never sure if it has taken errors or problems across with the upgrade.

i have also some pre loaded tools included.

ccleaner and Malwarebytes etc plus a few select others...
