+1. What he said.
Larry, you're- I understand- a Beta tester on IV.

Are you telling me/us you've no access to the Private Forum ([Private Development Forums] >> Norm Koger's The Operational Art of War III Development )? And are therefore unaware of some of the issues surrounding
TOAW III development?

I think he was agreeing with you.

Curtis Lemay -> RE: ETA? (11/21/2016 4:02:52 PM)

There is no way that that vitriol filled thread is going to be revealed to the public. However, there is one post in there where Ralph explains his relationship with Matrix. Perhaps that one post could be exposed or excerpted. Not my call, though.

Yeah, that +1 meant that I was agreeing that maybe it should be declassified since it was so old but then on the other hand there IS
a rather nasty argument contained therein. I'm leaning toward Bob's direction on this situation. And what he reccomends

Oh man, you are making it harder on us. Now I really wanna see it. [sm=00001746.gif]

I know, I'm just staggered he- or anyone else for that matter- was signed up as a Beta Tester (with presumably associated NDA) without being privy to what's now been publicly described here as 'vitriol'.

LATE EDIT: Got it. You know. If you're leaning on excerpting one post, I think that's difficult without putting it in the context of the whole argument, much of which is just as valid today as the day it was written (like years ago).

So if anyone is going to be a beta tester they should have to read garbage from a post 'like years ago' to be considered worthy? I fail to see any connection between an old post and one's ability to be a beta tester. You are testing the game, not taking part in a years old debate. What anyone said at any time in the past that has nothing to do with fixing broken parts of the game which is what a beta tester does. I doubt that they are interested in opening the festering wounds of others nor would or should the staff, regardless of size, care to have them do so.

Catch21 -> RE: ETA? (11/21/2016 8:17:42 PM)

No. But they might do well to read anything available on a project's history to get an idea of its track record before they sign their lives away to work on it.

When I signed on as a TOAW III beta tester JAMIAM required me to read all the development board threads to get caught up. It
certainly helped me to catch on to the inferences refered to in other posts later on.

Hey guys

A little over 2 weeks, anything new to announce, any progress?

sPzAbt653 -> RE: ETA? (12/7/2016 10:44:28 PM)

I think I got food poisoning yesterday. I threw up for the first time since I was like 20 and drank too much. It was awful.

There's been several updates and lots of tweaks to the graphics and the interface is looking a lot better. It's a new game.

Did you eat at one of those little hole-in-the-wall shops? A little ma and pa kind of place? Or was it Olive Garden? Sonic?
Burger King has agreed to cook all my meals for me but it's more convient for them if I go to their place.

It isn't even on par with a part time job. Well, unless you're Larry. [:D]

Hey there, somebody mention my name? I'm retired and don't have anything else to do but work on the computer. Yesterday my
Mom and my sister Jeri and I went to Burger King to eat lunch and I had a double and a chocklate milkshake and some frys and I
didn't get sick or anything. But that was the only break I took from the computer not counting my hourly naps. I work for an hour
or so and then take a wrist rest nap. It's the only way my right hand carpal tunnel is surviving.

Yes [:(]
A place called Grump's Cafe. It opened recently right on the corner, or down the street. Either way, I can walk there so it is fun, but this is the third time I've given it a chance and it pretty well stinks. At least I didn't get sick the first two times.

One time I bought a Whopper and a milk shake and was driving home when I toke a drink of the shake and it tasted sorta blinky to me
so when I got home I called the burger king manager dude and complained and he gave me his name and said to ask for him the next
time I frequent his establishment again and I'll get a free meal to replace the one I just bought. Yeah, burger and shake for free. So
I tied it out the next day and sure enough the dude was appolegetic and gave me a replacement meal free just like he said he would.

So my poinit is........maybe you should say something to the manager of said little shop and see what happens. What could go wrong?

sPzAbt653 -> RE: ETA? (12/8/2016 6:35:32 AM)

He might put a knock-out drug in my food, then drag me back to the meat locker, cut me up, and serve me to his guests.

Lobster -> RE: ETA? (12/8/2016 12:32:10 PM)

It takes all kinds of critters to make Farmer Vincent's fritters. (Motel Hell) [:D]

Not really?...[:-]

no one said which year......

I said earlier that was hoping for a release sometime in 2017, since this year is gone, Chrismas 2017 now look no so far away, even as an optimistic scenario, considering that we have no official word yet.

Had a brief chat with Tane on FB, and, didn't realize TOAW4 was still a 'thing'...

Charles Jehlen -> TOAW IV (12/28/2016 5:08:22 PM)

I'm looking forward to IV in 2017.

The Vietnam campaign scenario in III is my fall back when I can't find friends to play the Victory Games board game.

Have you played Campaign for South Vietnam yet? It's one of my favorite scenarios and really brings back memories
for me. The 16th SOS squadron flies AC-130's and I was in that squadron for a while and flew missions on them. Curt Chambers
made a few changes for the TOAW IV version and he and I playtested it several times. The only fault I've found with the
scenario is that the F-105's in Thailand can't reach Hanoi and or Haiphong. TOAW has modeled the inflight refueling
sorta and it's not working just right yet I guess. Maybe there's some kind of scenario switch that the designer can set or
something. Other than that I've seen both sides win and I consider it rather historically accurate. You may see some
VC squad shoot down a B-52 with their bows and arrows at some point.

Good hunting.

TOAWxIVxMaster -> RE: TOAW IV (1/2/2017 1:59:31 PM)

Hi Guys,

I guess the ETA of TOAW IV will be 2Q or 3Q 2020. So the people will have enough time playtesting the game.
