So much effort for one damaged ship...

Can anyone explain how air to air values are calculated (how back up fighters effect)? It seemed to be +1/-1 before using surprice points.

I remember this was difficult on board game. When I asked it here on this forum I was adviced just to and 1/10 for each back up fighter (7+0.6+0.6+0.6+0.5+0.5 and 7+0.4). That would give +2/-2.

Indeed. And it is -2/+2. You just looked at the final odds wrong. Final odds is -2 for Axis and -1 for Allies. +2 with -3 for surprise is -1 .Hence -1 and -2.

It depends on whether you are using an optional rule. CVPs are always one tenth of A2A value. Using the base rule all backup FTRs are +1. With the optional rule, they are one tenth. I do not like that optional rule at at all; in the early game it makes back up fighters just about useless.

I thought that each follow up CVP were +0.5 without the optional rule?

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (12/5/2017 5:48:07 AM)

Wow. I was right. I just didn’t know that.

If you wouldn’t know me better, I would say: I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken [;)]

If one is NOT using CVPs, then each carrier is worth .5. If one is using CVPs (as most people do), then CVP s are one tenth.

One ground strike in southern USSR front.

Does USSR fighter want to intercept? It is located one hex SE from target hex.

Germany rail INF div from Riga to Toulouse.

Italy rail INF div from Genoa to Toulouse.

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (12/6/2017 3:22:28 PM)

Germany prepares to attack 3 cities in USSR.

Back to Japan for land moves.

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (12/7/2017 3:25:21 PM)

Japan: 8-3 INF one hex SE. Japan disembars elite HQ to Port Arthur and other HQ to Tokyo.

Germany declares 3 attacks.

In north (Vitebsk) odds are 48:5 = 9,6:1 (60% automatic, 40% 7:1)
In middle (Kiev) odds are 66:9 = 7.1 (2 disorganized units) engineer is used, HQ included to attack but no HQ support, AA gun included to attack
In south (Dnepropetrovsk) odds are 35:5 = 7:1

Does USSR want to send any planes?

Germany can intercept all targets with at least one 6 factor fighter.

No thank-you.

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (12/7/2017 6:12:21 PM)

Fractional roll is good so attack is automatic. Germany want to overkill that GAR rolls 10.

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (12/7/2017 8:54:56 PM)

Japan rebase LND from China to Port Arthur.

Germany rebase two fighters (Bf110 and Bf109) to front line in south and FW 190 from northern front to south.

Mayhemizer_slith -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (12/9/2017 7:41:58 AM)

Another rebase for Japan: NAV from Saipan to Bonin Islands.

Euro Axis are confusing enemy by rebasing Italian ATR back to northern Germany.

Italy and Germany uses HQs to reorganize NAV and FTR in France.

And here is weather for next two impulses.

Although with me and Warspite1 on the same team seems to be enough to guarantee it. [:(] [;)] [:)]

Orm -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (12/10/2017 9:07:09 AM)

No naval air.

France send their TRS to the Bay of Biscay where it embarks one British infantry corps from Liverpool. One US convoy point sail from Hawaii to the Coral Sea.

4 sea areas up for combat. Allies decline three of them but a US submarine activate China Sea. Will Japan send any additional air to the sea area?

Yes please. B5N1 to 0-box.

Orm -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (12/10/2017 9:20:46 AM)

The US submarine force is deterred by the strong Japanese air presence and decline to be included. No combat.

Orm -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (12/10/2017 10:24:10 AM)

No strategic bombing. No Ground Strikes.

The US 1st Marine Corps move southwards and liberate the Northwestern part of the Solomon Islands.

Minor adjustments of the Chinese nationalists.

Canadian forces advance into Libya from Tunisia. However, supply has now become an issue.

British mechanized forces liberate Cartagena.

AllenK -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (12/12/2017 6:58:16 PM)

J/A 42 Axis 8

Germany and Japan, land. Italy combined.

With supply convoys to Malta suspended, the Italians notice the decreased air activity over the island. The Z.501 group decide to pay a complimentary visit to the Grand Harbour at Valetta.

However, it turned out the Royal Navy were expecting unwelcome 'surprise' guests. The whole area was rapidly covered in such a smoke screen the Italian pilots could not see where to leave the gifts traditionally brought to such occasions and were forced to take them back home undelivered (rolls of Allies 3, Axis 5 gave 4 surprise points which I assumed the Allies would want to avoid combat).

Over Biscay, German Fw-109's and Italian SP.79's head out to the 2-box.

Combat is declined in the Italian Coast but the SP.79 initiates in Biscay. Germany adds a Stuka and Bf-109 to the 1-box.

The RAF have quite a range they can add to the already considerable presence in the area. Any additions?

Orm -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (12/12/2017 8:15:50 PM)

The typhoon and the A-36 reinforce the 0-box. Thank you.

AllenK -> RE: 4 player E-mail: AAR (12/12/2017 8:24:46 PM)

The additional fighters scramble to the defence. They soon spot some of the approaching Axis forces, who promptly adopt defensive positions (Searches: Axis 3, Allies 1).

Do the Allies wish to change the line-up?
