AGS is not progressing too fast. Allow3d me to send some units to 10 hexes behind the front on refit to build morale. Expecting them back on the line next turn if AGS starts to hug the Dnepr in preparation to get across. Bit disappointed with all paratroopers disappearing Wallas. What are they doing there around Pavlova?! They need to screen the Dnepr to delay AGS further or you need to rail them to centre sector to help out there. Now I was forced to evac Dnepropetrovsk industry. Hope Bryansk and Kiev can be evacuated next turn.

We need those paratroopers on the Moscow front if they are not being use in the south. We also have a tank division far in the enemy rear, and they dont have any troops close. Part of the 33rd Army if I am remembering it right. I moved them one hex, and will continue moving them until they disrupt their supply lines. Psych0 maybe we could use those units (the ones you said you sent 10 hex away ) as reserve forces for Moscow ? Or will you absolutely need them as reserves ?

Moscow Strategy I was thinking, maybe we could retreat all of our forces in the middle to South and North fronts. In order to boost these fronts with a huge amount of troops compared to our enemies. And while yes, we would loose Moscow, but we could come back in the winter to re-capture it. And the Germans would see their troops advanced so much in so little, that the supply lines wont be able to reach them in time, making them weak. Whats everyone's opinion on that ?

IMHO we should delay advance to Moscow as much as possible without losing further units! South of Moscow we can totally give up, so Tula-Voronezh-Kharkov. Just screen that with paratroopers at 4 hexes from the enemy every turn. And my units on refit are already assigned to southern armies so would cost too much AP to reassign to centre armies. Better to direct all/most reinforcements to centre.

Yeah pretty much all reinforcement is going to center. Everything I can find is on its way there. I believe we should delay too, well, that was my first idea, but with the huge loss of troops we are going to loose in the center, will we even be able to defend ? or will it be another massacre.. Thats why Im thinking to save the troops remaining... Decisions, Decisions.... Hard decisions.... I cant believe they are that close and we are late July.

BTW, I managed to screw up my save. Cracaces called it to my attention and I went in and fixed it. So hopefully my guys ended up moved in the saved game they got. I am fairly much OK with my position. I'd like some AP to build a fortification both in Schisselburg and on the north side of the Neva at that point and if somebody could dig up some good Sapper Regiments and transfer them to Northern Front I'd appreciate it. Seems like sappers don't do much digging until they have decent experience levels so my usual habit of creating new ones for my fortified regions doesn't actually help. And if you leave me some rail capacity next turn I can send a couple of armored divisions down to the Moscow region.

Im just not sure how much AP we will have next turn, probably not a lot. We will see in time. No news from Drakken yet. Il be making his turn until he comes back or we find a replacement. Yeah lets hope your guys were moved haha.

Oh my god...we are SO ****ED on the central front, its unbelievable. They encircled ALL of our troops. ALL defenses in the center is lost. The South has been broken trough The North has a pocket.

Southern reinforcement : All troops in the Stalino-Gorlovka area. Central reinforcement : Every troops possible Northern Reinforcement : All troops under Stavka in your sector is now yours. ( Dont rejoice though, I think thats only 2 division, the 5th and 6th Naval Infantry Brigade )

OK, I'm done. Nasty little pocket but I managed to break it open. He'll be on the Neva next turn, probably, depending on his gas situation. Looks a lot worse down your way. Used 15 AP and about 20K rail cap to bring another army into the Leningrad sector.

Oh, just pointing out in the south, if you need any advice from the peanut gallery, you can isolate all the German armor on your front very easily. Probably would cut down on their mobility next turn.

Any point continuing guys?! I can do my turn but I don't really see the point. Good learning experience. Well played on their part in the centre. Additionally, this team play is not really for me to be honest. I miss the coordination, planning and discussion I was expecting. And the Soviet side is also not my preference, too much admin, organising and being patient before any fun can be had from December. Feels like a job rather than a game. And then Drakken just leaving without a word. I'm not very motivated to continue as you can hear. This team game concept could work but it requires a different approach for it to become more fun than the standard 2 player game. I'll do my turn tonight but if you you also think we should fly the white flag, then let me know.

Well everytime I would try to talk about strategy and ended my messages with : Il be waiting for everyone's opinion. I would never get any opinion and had to wait 2-3 days , even 4 or 5 days sometime before I get an answer. So in that matter, it made it hard to communicate. However. Everyone is free to do as they please. I did the Southern turn this time. and we will be finding a replacement. Everyone is free to leave if they want. I will be fighting until the end, personally.

Well.. the enemy is at the gate of Moscow. and its Late July / Early August. So, no. things are not too good. You will need to get in contact with Sparkley Tits I believe for the Dropbox. I personally dont know anything about it, apart from the password. Maybe The Doctorking can help you as well ( Northern Front commander ) The game is not over, it will never be over unless our entire armies are eliminated. I will take this fight to my grave, I will never abandon the USSR !

It's a really long way to Magadan (farthest major city in the USSR away from the Germans). I'm pretty confident so far in my sector anyway. He's going to take Leningrad at some point but hopefully not before the winter. Then, we'll hold him somewhere short of any useful target. What is our order of play?

Order of play is the same : Me, Wallas, Center ( ?? ), North / South. Im waiting to see if we cant get a player for center. Ideally, I shouldnt play center again, but we are running out of options here. So far strategy is to try to hold as much as possible, everywhere. Its a major disaster right now, but so was Operation Barbarossa. We will have to retreat and loose a lot but if thats what we do, thats what we do. Until we can get things back in order. Im going to make my commander turn today, and then it will be Wallas's turn.

Iv put everything I could in terms of reinforcement in the center. If we find a Central commander, those units will go to that person. As the rest goes, if anyone has a good idea on what we can do to bring things back together, now is the time.

Fall back slowly, count on the supply difficulties to slow the fascist advance. We aren't going to get much of a winter counter-offensive, lacking troops. We should do our best to consolidate a position where we can hold the Caucasus and the Volga cities. Put all those replacement divisions on refit. Make sure to increase their TOE Max to 100%. Fly our air force at every opportunity, regardless of losses, so that our guys gain experience. By spring, we ought to have a dozen or so fighter regiments that can hold their own with the Luftwaffe and a dozen or so IL-2 squadrons that can deliver a lot of AFV kills. If the Germans continue to push east, they will suffer lots of vehicle losses that will hamper their armored movement as well as their supply delivery. Hope for good outcomes from the partisans. Maybe drop those airborne brigades that Wallas has saved so carefully into the Axis rear areas to cut supply lines. When they get shattered, they will then serve as partisan cadres. Build for a good 1943.

Do the game actually take into account the lost troops behind lines to become partisans leaders ? Also Doctorking, I think you will have to be the Central Commander until we find a replacement. Are you okay with that ? Im still debating it with Telemescus in PM.

If a unit is shattered (or maybe also surrendered?) it has a chance to become a partisan cadre. I know I've often gotten plenty in western Belarus where I lose lots of units on turn 1 and 2. I can take the center if you like. My plan right now would be to organize those guys around Moscow into armies and do my best to hold Moscow for as long as possible. Leningrad is now almost certain to fall and probably pretty soon.

Alright well we have no one to take command of the Central front. So go ahead and do the Central Front Doctorking. Take all the armies around Moscow and defend the capital.
