It looks like that CV TF is vulnerable without a lot of fighters compared to bombers. Maybe even 4Es on Naval can reduce the fighter numbers some more.

Do you have any Cats available for night torpedo attacks? Or even with bombs?

Don't have strong enough night naval search to get a decent night DL on KB.

I understand but they might also be able to be used against SCTFs should they drop in for a visit. They could detach some ships to be swarmed by PTs and DDs.

Bombs won't do it, and it will be several days before an HQa arrives at Marysborough with torpedoes.

I have 600 PP, I was thinking on buying out the last American fractional Division in Mombasa, but the priority isn't there yet, perhaps a NZ unit and some Americans. Can't decide, so for now we are simply accumulating points.

Bombs can do it. 500 pound bombs can wreck the topside of BBs, they can but do not always penetrate the CAs but the CLs and smaller are vulnerable. Enough bombs on a BB can leave it a flaming wreck which is a good use for the Devastators early on but Avengers are the better aircraft. Slow the ships down and/or detach them from the main task force and they are vulnerable. I sank a Japanese BB using Devastators with 21 or 23 topside 500 pound bomb hits. [X(] The Devastators and the Avengers on Low Naval set for torpedoes with none available will carry four 500 bombs each.

My goodness, the Dutch are coming in at Aden. I have pilots and air frames....they should add a lot of utility.

Looking messy!

Seems like a major withdraw from Bundaberg! On April 18th there was 38,900 troops spotted at Bundaberg. Bundaberg also now empty of planes...it is a size 3 runway slightly damaged.

Ashigara was left with heavy fires, heavy damage, 1 torpedo hit, 68 shell hits. What a beast to still be afloat.

The Ashigara may not be afloat if you consider the float plane ground losses. If she sank, you won the naval battles that turn.

[:)]

Newcastle is one of my favorite ships, and in most long-running games i've followed she just gets unceremoniously sunk at one point. This is very nice to see (regardless of future events)!

A lot of interesting numbers there. Japanese total losses to date is about 33% higher than the Allies. A very good result this early in the war when Allied aircraft have performance problems. [:)]

And half of the Betty losses are to Ops - one of the drawbacks of using that long range too much!

Losses of Vals and both Kate models are good too!

Many years ago when I spoke with John E (DBB developer) about the apparent lack of heavy artillery for the Allies, he told me the best units to use in that roll are the American CD units. I would ship 2 to 4 of them to Australia and use them for your push up the eastern coast. They will also be good at firing back of Nathan's bombardment TFs.
