So does this expansion make the game any harder or confusing?

No, it just adds more races, more playing strategies, and more diversity with foes you can meet during play.

Also it makes game somewhat more "darker" because of more realistic, grim Race art.

I am having an issue described here:
http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3657752

Basically, I am setting research to 400k but all the other AI players are getting stock standard research, while I am getting the 400k slow research. The setting reads in the setup for a new game that the setting is a global value and not just for the player, so how is this happening for me?

Could this be an issue with this mod, or is this a bug ? I cannot imagine noone else is having the same issue.

Start a new game without this mod and see if you get the same problem. I seriously believe that the Extended Mod is not the probem.

It isn't, it took him 43 years to get out of his home system. He's just really really bad at the game and probably needs some playtips.

You seriously just want to be a condescending wanker in 2 threads now?

This isn't my first rodeo, you come off like a kid on the x-box forums ranting about how bad someone is.

I am looking in the game editor every few years and the AI is getting 10x the research I am despite my cap for research not being anywhere near reached. So please, do tell why that might be.

Otherwise just stfu because you really don't have a good answer to the question and just went with the simplest idea your little ego could come up with and followed me into 2 places I asked the question just to make sure your ego was TOTALLY satisfied.

Uh yeah so anyways, it took you 43 years to get out of home system. Your obviously doing something wrong bro... if you upload your save file i can probably tell you exactly what it is too..

Yeah when I am in need of help, you are gonna be right at the top of my list of people to ask man.

As it is, thanks to the suggestion of Fishers of Men (who you were telling not to even bother with me with) I took out the mod and got weirdness with the race menu which was still bringing up some of the race selections from the mod - so some files seem to have been misplaced when copying.

The reason I wasn't accurate about the 43 years to get out of system was that I knew it was irrelevant to what I was saying - which was the behaviour I was seeing through the editor - which you blatantly just ignored.

Someone intimately knowledgeable about such things might've been able to pick up on that behaviour and just said flat out what it was - thus I asked the question.

So, it's ok, you are off the hook and can now feel free to hover around the forum being a dismissive douche-bag to whoever else might ask their question next.

Lol. Or you can consider typing your question more clearly. As it was, it was barely readable. You obviously know how to type well enough if your insulting someone...

You roughly implied that you left your system at 43 years. Even if that was not the case, the races you were complaining about looked about what I'd expect from 43 years of development if not a bit smaller TBH..depending on exactly how expensive you had your research setting at. That information is VERY relevant as it determines whether or not the problem is player error.

In any case, you could have easily ignored my posts. But instead you went into a rage. Nice.

Is the special 10% growth bonus showing up for Exterminate for races that state they have that benefit (Keskudon)? I thought it was, but I think the base growth rate was just high. I wait a while but don't see a change from Enslave pop growth rates. Or am I missing something.

You won't see much of a change, even if it is being applied. The bonus is 10% of your current rate, not a flat 10% added to your rate.

So a colony that would otherwise have a 10% growth rate won't go to 20%. It'll go to 11%. That having been said, don't be fooled by low numbers. A couple percent extra growth in a large population has a big impact.

Thanks. That probably means the population is consumed fairly slowly as well and not immediately noticeable except in unhappiness.

Enslave seems the more practical evil option.

Don't think so. Haree said he might do an update with some extra components and a fix for the Visareen, but it didn't seem to be high on his priorities.

Compatible with the .5.6 patch? I don't see anything that would be an issue...But I can't say for certain because I have not installed the patch, due to the crashes others have reported.

Should be totally compatible, my list of things to add to an update always gets bigger. I might just do one for my essentials soon.

I want to try this mod. Has it any bugs? With which tech mods is it compatible?
I prefer tech mods which reduce the exploration speed by changing hyperdrives and perhaps reactors. THX

This mod should be compatible with most mods, it doesn't change many core aspects of the game, only adding more races and fixing up the dreadful original art.

You can delete (or rename to be sure) those images from the Distant Worlds Universe\Customization\DW Extended Universe\images\[possibly another folder I forgot]\races folder (ONLY from this folder) The game will then use its original art.

This is an awesome mod - it works fine with all path levels (so far). I really like the new races, and also like how if you start a new game & chose random AI empires... you will get surprises every time.

Skyjack, I believe there is a completely different and unique shipset image for each race. Some are original and the rest are new. Is this what you are asking?
