Afternoon, gents.

Went to sleep at 1, woke up at 11:30. I call that a good night's sleep.

I went to sleep at 11:30, got up at 0500, went to a hockey game and was back in bed at 0730.

Got up again at 11.

I see you are back on 'hockey' time......

There's a certain satisfaction from being a big fan of the last place team in the league. It's kind of like playing Japan from '43 on.

Satisfaction = masochism?

It's done. One week of dedicated work, and the slovenliness of three months has been fixed.

I talked to my boss today, and the decision as to whether or not the position will be made permanent will be taken in early to mid-February. It sounds like they've learned their lesson, and it's going to happen.

I asked her if I could expect to be number one in line to be offered the job, and she said yes (obviously). We'll talk about pay then.

Well, if they dont figure out that adding you to this particular equation makes all the difference, theyre probably not worth working for. Good job T!

Hi all,

And it is supposed to go to - 2 Deg C tonight.

That could kill our 3 citrus trees

Darn Bruce...

Can you warm the trees with some cover possibly?

BTW, I have relatives in Alabama and Georgia in the south - they also say it is very very (and unusually) cold...

Great, Dixie! At that age he should heal lightning fast, too.

Already peed on the doctor - such wisdom for his tender age!

I met my friend's son for the first time when I was in CA. The tyke is already 6 mos old (and has more hair than dad). Our other friend warned me to wear something easily washable, as the young fella is dangerous at both ends, apparently having both pooped and peed on the poor guy several times. Luckily, little Anthony behaved himself when I was there.

With hindsight, Victory at Sea isn't a documentary series. It's too dramatic and propagandistic.

Barely a week into the year and I already agree with T on something. I'm thinking the Maya were way too optimistic about this end of the world thing.

I have read everyone of Patrick O'Brians novels. Got me interested in the age of sail. I actually bought a few reference works just to try to understand the terminology better.

So did I........didnt help.

Our problem is that it is raining. The covers (blankets and such) are wet.

I may water the trees and cover them in ice

Having lived in a warm (freaking hot!) climate all my life, I take issue with your assertion. My capillaries haven't migrated one nanometer. Either that or my evaporative cooling system is just incapable of dealing with 60% humidity and 95F. So no, I don't acclimate to warm climates. Must be my Scottish gene pool.

Maybe you should try that with a skirt on.
