Hard Sarge -> RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion (12/22/2006 4:15:15 AM)

Sorry, I do not find him in my game or my lists, so maybe I corrected him earlier ?

Sgt R. Shannon is listed twice with 540 Sqn. I've completely exited the game 4 times and they are there every time.

I've just noticed there is no space between the R. and Shannon - R.Shannon. Don't know if that effects the way the editor reads the name.

No Space == generated names. The game keeps a count of surname use to allow some balancing, but not initial or within units, so it's just coincidence...

Hard Sarge -> RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion (12/22/2006 5:00:55 AM)

yea but a odd one to be getting doubles 4 times in a row in the same squadron ?

which, it could of been a bad name (easy to miss the space when inputting) but I not finding it

so do not think it is a data side thing

von Shagmeister -> RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion (12/22/2006 1:12:08 PM)

It's too much of a coincidence to be random. I started the game up again this morning and there are two Sgt R.Shannon's there again.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion (12/23/2006 12:11:06 AM)

Roger and I agree, the odds are totally against it

this is what I have for 540 (before the corrections and add ins)

I do not find a R. Shannon, or R.Shannon any where in the data base

(I can check by squadron, by name, by nation)

well, y'all got 2 RA Lentons there... :D

Hard Sarge -> RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion (12/23/2006 1:59:50 AM)

yeap, and that is what VS had said

that is a uncorrected dump, won't have a new one till next week

I don't really want to post the screens from in game yet

there were two Hamitons too

von Shagmeister -> RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion (1/14/2007 5:14:55 PM)

Here are the pilots serving with 2 Sqn as of 17Aug43 (it consisted of 3 Flights, hence the high number of pilots). Note they are all officers - no NCO pilots (this seems to be standard on all TacR Sqns during this period). I haven't such detailed info on these guys, hence the vague exp figures and lack of first names.

Here is a really good reference site for adding real 8th AAF FC pilot names.

von Shagmeister -> RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion (6/3/2007 9:45:09 PM)

Hi Augenstein,

Thanks for the link but we've got 99.9% of 8FC pilots, both initial pilots and replacement pilots, it's just a matter of Sarge finding the time to enter them all.

However do keep searching as there are still huge gaps (ie no where near such good coverage for 9FC as for 8FC or for the bombers and coverage for RAF/CW Sqns is hit or miss).

Will have good coverage for the Jagdwaffe (eventually) when everything is cross referenced.

Cheers

yea that is a great site, I have been going there since before this started :) and I have talked with some of the people who supply info to that site, I like the pictures

and as Shaggy says, the main hassle areas, are CW (and IXth is shaky)

Knockout Dropper -> RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion (7/9/2007 5:12:18 PM)

Please include 2Lt Donald W. Stoulil (Pilot) for the 303rd BG(H). He was the pilot of Knockout Dropper. Two kills: Ju-88 and FW-190 by S/Sgt Kenneth L. Holder (BTG)

[image]http://www.303rdbg.com/359stoulil-4239769a.jpg[/image]
[harleyedit - sorry, the URL width was bugging me. I put in the image tags, too]

Thirty-three dispatched (30 credited) Combat missions flown by Captain Donald W. Stoulil:

Two as CoPilot with combat orientation Crew: 90 (20 Dec 43) & 91(AS) - With 1Lt LeRoy E. Daub Crew (Other Stoulil crew members stood down)

Fourteen First Pilot regular crew missions: 92 (AS) (24 Dec 43), 93, 95, 98, 99, 100, 101, 103(A), 104, 107(A), 109, 110, 111, 112, 115, 121(A) & 122 (18 Mar 44)

Fourteen as Lead Crew CoPilot or Pilot while assigned as a PFF (Pathfinder) Lead crew with the 305th BG(H) at Chelveston: 136 (18 Apr 44) - Major Glynn F. (AS) Credited abortive sortie - no bombs dropped -- (A) Non-Credited abortive missions
For mission dates and targets see the missions list.
Note: The Stoulil crew members who served on TDY with the 305th BG(H) as PFF Lead crewmen were never happy with the assignment. While assigned to a Squadron they were never made to feel a part of the 305th and were also considered as outsiders by many in the 303rd. The Stoulil crewmen were made to feel like "men without a country."
Crew Notes (ranks and grades at time of last combat mission):

Capt Donald W. Stoulil (P) - Graduated from Advanced Pilot School as 2ndLt 12 April 43, Class 43-D, Roswell, NM. medaloffairness -> RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion (8/11/2007 1:09:24 PM)

Hi,
I am playing Bob and 12 o`clock high, which seems to be the European version of Bombing the Reich for abaut 5 years with some interruptions, so I am really an addicted one [:D]

It is a pleasure for me to have found some persons on this planet which are still interested in the game. [&o][&o][&o][&o]

So, I hope you will answer my following question. I posted it to this thread because the question I think fits in this topic.

Is the any possibiltiy to influence the allocation of new pilots to squadrons. I suffer the pain that some squadrons are get 40 pilots regradless of the available machines in the squadrons. Also when I upgrade from one plane to another one, (e.g Me 110 to He 219 Uhu) then the squadron will be filled with up to 30 planes. As a result I update the Stab-Squadrons first in order to avoid such strange things from happen.

But the major problem are the pilots... so is there any possibilty or patch which gives me the opportunity to influence the allocation? Or, what are the internal mechanics of the program for the replenishment of pilots?

Thanks in advance

Best Regards,

CHRIS from Austria

Hard Sarge -> RE: Real Life Pilots For Inclusion (8/11/2007 9:44:37 PM)

Hi Chris
(should of post this a new question, but I will reply here)

no, it is how the game replaces pilots, the player does not really have any control over it

and the same with the plane replacements, other then you can change planes with a few units and the game will split the planes between them (IE, if you have 60 P-40s, you give them to one FG it will get 60 planes, if you give them to two units you will get 30 in each and so on)
