BULLDOGINTHEUK -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/3/2008 3:33:41 PM)

Yeah, I didn't know that..

rickier65 -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/4/2008 2:28:16 AM)

I've looked at StarDrek 1.5 and suggest we approve it and move to the approved list. Ironcrom or Bulldog?

Rick

seille -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/4/2008 10:59:15 AM)

Wouldn´t it be better you guy´s wait until the test game is over ?
So far we found several bugs and maybe there are some more we just did not find yet.

BULLDOGINTHEUK -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/4/2008 3:51:20 PM)

I believe most bugs have been ironed out now but I don't mind waiting another week or two to ensure that its solid.

IRONCROM -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/17/2008 8:44:35 PM)

I am attempting to contact the designer of "engineer war" to determine if the one awaiting approval is the final version before I start testing it. His discussions on the forum suggest he may be making more changes soon.

@Rick... Is the WAW mod a final version? I know you have had some contact with the designer here. I thought maybe you might know what's going with this one.

I'll check with Murat on the waw mod.

Does the web site default to the pending approval box rather than the sandbox box?

I looked at the engrs war as well and thought it looked like it should be in the sandbox based on his thread.

greetings there, i are the designer of WaW 32 mod for 1.15, it is on playtesting phase but already playable, main issues will be about balance on the scenario, i am playing it these days but was wanting to make it public to allow people to try it, i think germans are too powerfull on the mod but still have not reach to fight the russians and United States, i was trying to add it to sandbox instead where it are now, maybe i modify something when finish playtest's play on it, may be for sandbox for the moment i think,

thanks for the support on it,

with best regards,

Alarick/Murat30.

Alarick,

I'll go ahead and move it to the sandbox, and in meantime I'll check the paths as well and let you know.

Also, what about the Diplomacy Napoleonic Wars. Were you planning to make any changes, or should we move that to the pending approval?

Thanks,
Rick

alaric318 -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/18/2008 3:39:41 AM)

greetings, dear Rick, about the napoleonic scenario i have not still the time to test it, i was wanting to make it playable by the AI but these week has been invested on the WaW 32 1.15 mod, anyway, thanks you for ask on it, i know the problem but can take some time to make the changes on the napoleonic scenario, AI keeps-off without build troops as i changed all builds on "no combat" items, i, well, strongly, do think that if i change infantry, cavalry and artillery to his "item type groups" AI opponents will build them, if it is not problem let stay the scenario at least one week on the sandbox, is all time i do need to try the changes and see what happens on a game against the AI, i will make a post there when test is already done and can make to left the scenario on "only human players" or "available for AI players",

thanks for your time and support, see you latter,

with best regards,

Murat30./Alarick.

IRONCROM -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/18/2008 8:13:58 PM)

 @Murat
So... Your not ready to seek approval on the "Napoleonic scenario" yet?

By the way. sounds like some interesting changes to the WAW scenario. That one is my favorite.[;)]

rickier65 -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/18/2008 9:42:42 PM)

Alaric -

No problem - Just let us know when you think it's ready for approval and I'll be glad to take a look at it again. No rush.

Rick

alaric318 -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/18/2008 10:45:32 PM)

greetings, final version of napoleonic scenario just uploaded, i think it is ok, at least for playtesting, it is what miss-off still now, i test first AI turn, actually the .zip have two scenarios, one with political points granted and the other re-set the allowable builds to adress the AI to build as wished, AI cannot build political points, as it has been disabled, so, not production is wasted, AI, when revised the cities in the test of turn 01 was building, ships, infantry, cavalry and supply, the ratio is 75% (default) of % artillery, not seen that have build artillery, i think the scenario is ready, thanks for all support and best regards,

Alarick.

greetings, the original WaW 32 is very good but i was wanting to feature the historical panzer units, so for the russian guards armies, veterans-survivors of barbarossa and the shock troops and hvy artillery, have been fun to edit it, but even more fun is playtesting it and seeing all work in order as intended at first, the mecanics about russia war entry, japan pressure from germany and USA entry are events well done by Tom that give both realism and playability as when you attack russia at most USA will enter the war in no more than six turns, USA is very important and shatter the balance, is good that there are not option for attack russia but remain at peace with USA, a such option will shatter the gameplay and the balance needed, the most difficult balance to find is to give the russian enough strenght to stop the germans in november/december 41 indeed near moscow, leningrad, stalingrad but not too much that shatter the balance, i still are before barbarossa in my test game, casualties stats gives a figure that the scenario works well,

hope you enjoy playing it, as allways with all scenarios/games really where the scenario shines is in multiplayer, but against the AI too can be a good challenge, if do not give problems, there are enough variants about balance, as Tom explains and the AI (+/++) bonus,

with best regards,

Alarick/Murat30.

IRONCROM -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/22/2008 2:01:12 AM)

"Diplomacy Napoleonic Wars"

Scenario seems sound to me.

@Rick... What do you think about the install?
If you think the install is good then my vote is for approval.

It's a new version so let me recheck it real quick. It was set up ok. But I'll check , and if it's still ok I'll go ahead and appove.

Rick

EDIT:

Ok, actually it's not, but it's close. I'll fix it and upload it fixed version later tonight. At least if it's as easy to fix as I think it will be.

Glad we can help Alaric - It's a small amount of work compared to what it takes to build a good scenario.

Rick

IRONCROM -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/23/2008 7:19:54 PM)

With your permission guys. I would like to get the "WAWv32a" pushed through quickly.

@Rick... The best way to post v32a would as a replacement for version32. It is the same version with a few fixes to known bugs.
Problem is it is not packed as a stand alone scenario. We could use your help here if have the time.
Then we could approve v32a in place of version32.

Version 32a1 is a player mod with barthheart's bug fixes included. It may need a longer look.

rickier65 -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/23/2008 8:53:51 PM)

I can do that - I assume Bartheart doesn't mind. I'll pm him and check.

Maybe there should be a exhange between Weber, Bartheart, Altair, and Jamian to see if they want to come up with a "single" tree - or continue along the three different paths (weber path - Bartheart-Altair path, and Jamian path)

I'm not sure if Alaric was working on one as well.

At some point it might start to get confusing to folks which WaW version they are playing, or should be playing and I think on the community site we'll have four different versions: WaW, WaWv32, then WaW v32a, and WaWv32a1.

I guess I'm wondering if it would be good to do some clean-up of older versions on the Community Approved (and pending approval) lists.

Any thoughts from the community?

Rick

Barthheart -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/23/2008 9:04:01 PM)

I'm currently working, verrry slowly, on a mod to this that will be fairly different, but still based on Tom's work. When I post it I'll give it a different name altogether.

The mod I posted just fixed soem bugs in Tom's version, I made no changes to his work. So for this one you can leave it as Tom's work.

So, my thoughts are if you make a mod of Tom's WaW scenario, it should get a new different name. Then anymore work Tom does only changes the scenario WaW vXX.

Variety is the spice of life![8D]

alaric318 -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/23/2008 9:40:37 PM)

straight WaW 32.x i did think the best indeed is to have the fixed version, for sure players will like more a version without bugs, so i did think that for the better is to have the fixed version online, just is my personal opinion, it is obviously as i see, there will have not even one player that will like to download the version with the bugs, By The Way, great work in fixing it, boys, i did not have experience with scripts and events, are not working on update my version, on playtest i are on the first turn of barbarossa(Turn 19), but on february 41, instead of june 41, this give the germans the extra time that historically general guderian will have needed for take moscow, On The Other Hand, the russians are presents for winter 41 with all his forces, the main purpose is to quickening the campaign and to can have it finished for 43, or at most, early 44, for balance i think is well, really think that mortar and machinegun can be left away of being added to shock armies, given russian production mod the russian player can build enough mortars and machineguns if he decide so, the germans are better troops, but the main russian army, in added with the units (heavy units) that the russian can field, are much more in high numbers, i did think the scenario is balanced, more on, given that japan have to declare war on united states on six or less turns or lose the game, i was not wanting that the russians can defeat alone to the germans, united states forces are the key to shatter the stalemate, but still have to play the left of the scenario, are very pleased that we enjoy on a game engine as this, with his flexibility and clear combat system, just was wanting to give my point of view, i do second to IronCrom, one updated version is for the better, so, new-comers players can download the scenario just clean,

keep up the good work, please,

with best regards,

alarick/murat30.

Yes it could get very confusing.

Barthheart's v32a is no different than v32 though. It's not a mod just a fix. Tom knows about it.

If we could somehow replace v32 with v32a altogether then it will lessen the confusion.

The other versions that Altair, Alaric and the others are player mods. We'll just have to make sure that these scenarios are defined as player mods of version 32.

It would be nice if we could get all of them to come together and make just one player mod scenario instead of having several.

IRONCROM -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/23/2008 10:19:39 PM)

On a side note here guys.

"Engineer war" is the final version and is ready for testing.
I have taken a short look and so far there are no major mods involved in this scenario. I'll take a deeper look when I get a chance over the next couple of days but I don't think we will find any major problems with this one.

IRONCROM -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (4/26/2008 6:46:01 AM)

I vote to approve "barbarossa 1941-1945".

I can't find any technical issues with the scenario.

BULLDOGINTHEUK -> RE: Scenario Approval Discussion - WaW3.2 (5/4/2008 11:29:30 PM)

Yes I love Barbarossa. Its a great scenario, lots of nice artwork. I second your vote Ironcrom.
