rkr1958 -> RE: Global War AAR in Pictures (5/7/2016 12:05:12 AM)

Turn 19. Sep/Oct 1942. Axis #11. Actions.

Both the Germans and the Japanese both contemplated long and hard about taking a combine versus a land. But in the end, both decided on a land owing to the fact that this turn will end before they get another impulse and the need for both to rail, disembark and / or move land units on their respective fronts. Also, for the Germans they hold out hope that with snow in the Arctic that they can get decent odds on Pskov and / or somewhere along the Eastern Front.

One only needs to see the weather for this turn (so far) to see that this has been one brutal turn for offensive actions, especially for the Germans on the Eastern Front.

Turn 19. Sep/Oct 1942. Axis #11. Italy. Egypt. Middle East.

Not much if anything from the Italians. They just check to make sure that their defenses are set in Egypt and the Middle East to their sanctification.

Turn 19. Sep/Oct 1942. Axis #11. Germany. Ground Strikes. Eastern Front.

Germany uses 3 of their 4 air missions for two ground strikes against Soviet stacks on the Eastern Front. One stack was in Pskov. Both ground strikes fail to do anything besides blow up some snowmen.

rkr1958 -> RE: Global War AAR in Pictures (5/7/2016 12:17:04 AM)

Turn 19. Sep/Oct 1942. Axis #11. Germany. Eastern Front. North.

Germany could only manage a +3A on Pskov (15% chance of succeeding), so they wisely decided to wait to attack.

Across the Eastern Front in the Arctic (i.e., in the snow), most attacks were less than +1B with the exception of a +4B. Given the composition of that attack (only 4 German units), the risks far outweighed any potential small gain so the Germans decided not to attack anywhere along the front.
